Food was ok. Service seemed like "a favor to be allowed to sit there". Over priced, but the server's tone towards how lucky we were to be sitting there seemed over the top.

I was walking around Mountain View one evening and came across Scratch. I went in to see what the place was like and found the place humming. It's a large restaurant for the Castro strip and the noise level wasn't that bad. I ordered a glass of wine and ordered 3 courses. I had oysters first then filet steak and... More

Scratch seemed somewhat trendy. I dined with a party of ten from work. Service and food were good, portion sizes were decent, specialty beers were tasty, but beer glasses were dinky at best. In addition, when asked if we could get separate checks, the server said no.

Often busy downtown location that always has good food. We especially enjoy sitting at the bar that overlooks part of the kitchen. Good place for out of town visitors.

We decided on a whim to have dinner at Scratch and it surpassed our expectations. The scallops main course was delicious. My husband had the filet mignon and loved it. We went back a few weeks later to have the exact same meal, it was that good. It is a little bit on the expensive side, especially if you order... More

Several things factor into my poor review of this place. Here are the highlights: -Happy hour doesn't apply to seated tables (only for people at the bar) -Bread took forever to come out, and one of the 2 types of bread was a meh flavor -The brocollini I ordered from the vegetarian menu was indicated to be vegan, which I... Nice restaurant. Food is OK. My companion liked his sushi. Thought it was fresh and good for a non Japanese restaurant.

We had a reservation. This is our very first time to Scratch and probably the last time. Automatically I can tell from the snooty attitude from the host/hostess it's not gonna be that pleasant. We were seated at a table. When I asked the host who took us to our table if any of the booths are taken, he told... More

5 of us attempted to have brunch Sunday. The restaurant was about 10% full. Our orders were simple: French toast, pancakes, turkey sandwich and hamburger. After 35 minutes we managed to get the attention of a server and inquired about our meals. We received a lame explanation and no food....no drinks...nothing. When the food finally came, 40 minutes later, 2... More

The service and atmosphere is good. I like the steak but it might be a little overprice if you consider the price.
