Quick lunch nice food

Had lunch with a colleague. It was functional and the food was good and we were both very hungry. Burger and lobster rolls both good and the lobster roll was packed with meat. $22 though is quite pricey I think. Service was fine and it was quiet but enjoyable.

Business lunch with average everything. A little attitude mixed in which is sad for a place like this. I asked for extra condiment and it took forever. I asked what was on the burger and they didn't know. I asked if they had a fancy mustard...they ignored me. Too expensive for this experience.

At this price i prefer to take a train and go to an excellent restaurant of San Francisco. Quality for price is absolutely crazy. The atmosphere is good, the meat is good but at half the price they are positioned.

Food has gotten better, the crabcake is quiet tasty and the halibut too. Way too many solo paper menus, you easily can end up with 4 separate menus between food and drinks... If you are 4 people your table may look like an office... Food seems to be better for american cuisine, decent portions and good taste. Service: not attentive,... More

I loved Scratch from the moment I walked in. They have a beautiful u-shaped bar that greets you (you have to walk around it to get to the host stand which is a bit confusing on your first visit). The service is very attentive with out being being obtrusive.. We had Lobster Cocktail followed by the Crab Cake, Mushroom Truffle... More

I've visited Scratch several times - for family eating and for business. The food is inspired American fare, California style, and is quite good. I've tried a few of the entrees - meatloaf, salmon, scallops and fillet - and found them quite enjoyable. In terms of style and decor, it is trendy and sports a fair-sized bar - somewhat akin... Four of us had dinner at Scratch recently and we all enjoyed the experience. Service was attentive and at a good pace, wine list was respectable and we all enjoyed our entrees. I particularly enjoyed my pan seared salmon filet with corn succotash and dill cream custard. If you're browsing the menu and can't decide, give this one a go!

Great food and service in this innovative restaurant. The name says it all. Ingredients are locally sourced and food is made from scratch, unlike many of the chain restaurants. Servers are very knowledgeable about ingredients and even drink recipes. Nice wine and beer selections. Give Scratch a try and it will be one of your favs too.
