5 of us attempted to have brunch Sunday. The restaurant was about 10% full. Our orders were simple: French toast, pancakes, turkey sandwich and hamburger. After 35 minutes we managed to get the attention of a server and inquired about our meals. We received a lame explanation and no food....no drinks...nothing. When the food finally came, 40 minutes later, 2... More

The service and atmosphere is good. I like the steak but it might be a little overprice if you consider the price.

On vacation we wanted a lovely, good, relaxed lunch. Found Scratch online and decided to try it. Our party of four was well pleased. The lobster roll and hamburgers were a big hit. Both flavorful and beautifully prepared. Dessert was a wonderful cheese board which we throughly enjoyed. Suggestions from our server led to some delightful wine pairings with our... More

Came here for a group work meal. The fish/veg starters were pretty boring. I had the tuna salad, this was made very well and was nice and light. I treated myself to one of the desserts, crumble + salt-caramel ice cream. This was really nice, loved it. The price was a bit high but I would come again :)

Wow; we have not been to Scratch for a couple of years and were left wondering 'what the heck?' We went for happy hour and sat at the bar. I want to compliment the very nice bartender, she was great. That is where my compliments end. We ordered the sliders and mussels. The sliders: the onion rings were pretty good.... More

It's full of techies and lawyers from across the street, but don't be put off by that. It's worth a visit, or several. Scratch feels clean, new and modern when you enter and somehow manages not to feel too formulaic, despite being similar to many new places in many ways. The staff is intelligent and attentive and seems to know... More

This is a nice option if you are eating downtown Mountain View. I've been here three times and have not been disappointed yet. There is a good mix of seafood and meat dishes. Prices are moderately high and you definitely want to have reservations.

Food is consistently very good to excellent, seafood is done very nicely. Lamb chop was off the hook, perfectly done and well seasoned. Cocktails and beer selection was excellent. Fresh oysters were superb, could go back just for the oyster bar. Service was quick, very attentive and knowledgeable about Gluten allergy issues. Reservations recommended, they get busy. Bar/reception is a... More

First off, you better have reservations or the inept seating staff will just point you to the bar. Four of us had dinner here and none of us thought it to be anything worth having again. Bacon Cheddar Biscuits $5 and Chorizo stuffed dates $9.00 were the only highlight of the meal. Was hoping for more from the Meatloaf $19... More

The food just isn't that great. Nice artisanal cocktail. Very windy at the bar. Interior is nice for mountain view in a modern sort of way.
