I had the spinach salad with grilled chicken for lunch. The chicken was bland and without flavor, and the salad had some rotten pieces of spinach in it. It was described as having cheese and nuts, but there was very little of either.

I flew in late and wanted some dinner before heading to my hotel. Even though this place was closing they went the extra mile and made a plate of iskander kabob for me to take out. Hadn't had the dish for a couple years and theirs hit the spot.

This is a good Turkish restaurant at moderate price. Very good food and big portions. The waitress was very friendly and helpful. The bottle of Malbec was excellent. Very satisfied.

Lovely! Had lunch with my girlfriend and my four-legged best friend and enjoyed a table outside under the umbrella covering our table. For our appetizer, we chose the Lahmacun ($5) which was delicious. A thin piece of lightly toasted pita like bread (with a little chew) with minced lamb on top, in the middle is a light salad we rolled... More

I come to Mountain View a couple of times a year and I always try and visit Ephesus. A good range of traditional Turkish/Med dishes. I love the Iskender kebap! Great value and the staff are well above average in terms of both knowledge of the food and courtesy, for the bay area. It's ranking is well deserved. They also... More

I was surprised by this place. I came across it by chance while walking around downtown Mtn View and am glad I tried it. Run by a family, this is a great little restaurant in a great location, and reasonably priced with respect to Silicon Valley standards. Try the Adana Kebab and Lentil Soup, both of which were excellent, really... More

My family dined at Ephesus last night and had a lovely meal. The service was attentive and the food was very tasty. Our server went out of his way to be helpful and honest; I asked him whether he thought the fish special was good, and he recommended three standard menu items instead. I went with the stuffed eggplant and... More

Entrees are reasonably priced and generously portioned! The beyti, a lamb dish was excellent. Service was attentive and food was good. Definitely will return next time I am in town.

After trying Opa (at Los Altos), Altassian (at Palo Alto) and Ephesus, I consider Ephesus a certain share above. Of course personal favorites will vary, but in my (and my families' opinion), this offered the best overall Turkish flavors for our pallete!

Ephesus is competing in the crowded Castro St. restaurant market against at least two other Med/Greek establishments. They've carved out a nice nice - high quality food, at a reasonable price. The service was excellent, and so was the overall value. For appetizers, we had the turkish chopped salad and the Greek Fries, both nicely seasoned (fries could be more... More
