A visit to the Goat

This is on first glance a cute place. But when one uses the facilities you find that it is a small closet of a restroom. It is not available to ADA clients and it is a unisex restroom. It is a great spot, on the Y intersection of South Mount Shast Blvd and Chestnut Stree, it has porch that is... read more

The food and service here are both hit and miss a few years back I ordered and expensive Kobe beef burger. It was ok but being that it was supposed to be Kobe beef maybe my expectations were way to high like the price. It is a fun place however to sit out on the deck along Mt Shasta Blvd... More

It's hard to find a normal restaurant in Mount Shasta, and this is as close as I could find. The fair is pretty much burgers and beer, but it was good. Their french fries are good, the onion rings are very good, and they also have sweet potato fries. The one warning however is don't have the ice tea! And... More

We have loved "the Goat" t in the past and plan our road trips from Seattle to California to include an over night in Mt. Shasta City so we can enjoy dinner here-- good burgers, friendly service, great atmosphere on the deck. That has been a great experience for 5-6 previous trips. Not so this last time. A friend who... Have to agree with several recent TA reviewers - the beer and atmosphere are nice, but the food is seriously lacking. I'd rate this place "poor" if it weren't for the beer and outside seating. I ordered a simple grilled chicken salad, which came out with dry, over-cooked chicken (what little there was) and salad greens drenched in dressing. A... More

The service was miserable but don't blame the server! Management decided one server was enough. Bad decision. Brandon worked his tail off. Paid $11.50 for nachos with chicken. Nasty! The cheese was gritty, milky, and tasted like it had been warmed several times over several days. The chips were stale. Greasy. The fish taco was merely adequate, not impressive. As... More

I have to say, they have wonderful iced tea. The service was awful, the food not great, and we did not get what we ordered. No one checked in with us to see if things were OK, or to refill drinks. Garlic fries were ordered, plain ones delivered, even tho the menu stated the garlic fries were the side. Nachos... More

This is a great little spot to grab a casual dinner. There is plenty of outdoor seating so it's perfect for a summer evening. They had a good selection of beers on tap, a mix of local and out-of-the-area microbrews. I would recommend the Wino Burger but the "Probably The Best Burger In The World" is also really good...generous servings... More

Went here for dinner based on Yelp reviews & recommendation by hotel clerk. It was o.k. But by all means not stellar. I left with heartburn and felt like my burger & onion rings sat in a lump in my stomach. Burger was tough, rings greasy and beer was meh. Wish I looked on TripAdvisor for reviews, may have made... Went there for lunch with my wife and two long-time friends. I ordered the ahi burger with fries. It came out charred on the outside and sashimi inside. In other words, perfect. Fries were nice and crisp, sauce for the ahi and condiments were a good match. Nice selection of beers and ales. We sat on the deck outside and... More
