Seen one, you've seen them all.

The diner is located on the main exit off freeway for Mt. Shasta City. The restaurant was very busy, but service was fast with good food. All Black Bear Diners seem to have good food and good prices.

Breakfast here in August 2014. Black Bear's always have good, LARGE breakfasts. Mount Shasta has few large family breakfast restaurants. This one, I think, is the best bet.

After driving 10 hours from SoCal on our way to Washington state, my parents and I went to the Black Bear Diner before heading to our hotel. They had eaten here before and were looking forward to eating here again. We got to the restaurant at about 5:30, in time for dinner. We were seated right away and the waitress... More

This is the original Black Bear Diner, and it is much smaller than the others I have been to. We went on a saturday night at 8pm- it was really crowded, but we received great , cheerful service. The food was good, not great, but large portions (after a day of hiking on Mt Shasta we were starved- and they... More

Happy to eat at Black Bear Diner for the first time. After spending more than $50 for a "picnic lunch" at a local grocery, found that the amount and quality of food at the original BBD was a real value.

We had seen Black Bear Diners in other cities, but had never stopped at one. Turns out, this is the original, or at least in the town where the chain started. We both ordered one of the specialty burgers ($9.99 ea). The meat actually tasted OK, although seriously overcooked. If the cook only serves burgers cooked well-done, then don't excite... More

We've been to Black Bear Diners and have found them to be inconsistent. This was one of the better ones. The décor was the typical bear kitsch (we would later see a real bear). We were seated quickly and would have been served quickly too, but we wanted to linger over the huge menu. A friend and I ordered chicken... More

Stopped here for Dinner, The Menu's were made to look like old gazette news papers. It was very busy and had to wait for seating but not long. They have an excellent selection of food and prices are resonable. The food was delicious. I will deffinately be going here again.
