We stop here on the way to Santa Cruz because we saw the 'deep fried artichokes' sign. We got a plate for less than 7 bucks. Very good pit stop to better enjoy the trip. Waiter was kind and the food good

We ate here after an early whale watching boat trip and had a fantastic breakfast. We had the scramble special with artichokes, crab and shrimp and an omelet with artichokes and sausage. Both were delicious. The owner Mark seated us. Our server told us that everything is gluten free that is fried since they use rice panko breading - so... More

The fried artichokes were bland. Fish was fresh. Satisfactory, but would have liked more non-fried fresh fish choices and more salads. Prices seemed on the high side for the type of place it was. You had to go outside to the bathroom - not pleasant. Waitress was cheerful.

Been here a few times for breakfast. I've only had the breakfast burrito because it's the best I have ever had! Service is always great too. The atmosphere is perfect...down home! Today was extra special because we met and chatted with the owner "Mark" while we enjoyed our breakfast. He told all about his Friday and Saturday night gourmet meals...look... More

We walked in for a late breakfast on a Sunday and it was packed. We asked the guy at the counter how long he thought the wait would be. He said five minutes and offered to come get us from outside if we wanted to wait on the bench outside. It was so nice to not be expected to stand... More

Driving out of Monterey towards Pacifica you will find this cafe. The sign on the road said fried green tomatoes & artichokes. We took the bait & stopped in. It was around noon thats 12pm We ordered both items & 1 anchor steam for me. I never had this before so I was thrilled to give them a try. Both... More

It was a personal and warm experience with superior food. He has a following with the locals who come for miles to eat with Mark and his staff. You'll be treated like royalty.

We followed the signs along Hwy 1 for "deep-fried artichoke hearts," and were curious so we decided to stop. We got there after the lunch rush, around 2pm, and met a waitress who seemed somehow suspicious of our being there...it wasn't the warm welcome you typically get in a restaurant. The artichokes were tasty, though not, perhaps, worth making a... More

Every time we come to the area we have dinner here, (as long as its Friday or Saturday). Mark the owner, stops by to chat and answer any questions. Always the freshest fish, interesting apps and salads, and the cinnamon roll bread pudding is to die for!! Our friend always orders the sand dabs. A real Central Coast cafe, good... More

I've eaten here a number of times for Breakfast and Lunch. If this were in another location we'd call it a diner. The menu offers things that the central California are known for: Artichokes, Squid, among others. The food is well prepared and things like the tea are listed as being faritrade and GMO free, always a big + for... More
