It was a personal and warm experience with superior food. He has a following with the locals who come for miles to eat with Mark and his staff. You'll be treated like royalty.

We followed the signs along Hwy 1 for "deep-fried artichoke hearts," and were curious so we decided to stop. We got there after the lunch rush, around 2pm, and met a waitress who seemed somehow suspicious of our being there...it wasn't the warm welcome you typically get in a restaurant. The artichokes were tasty, though not, perhaps, worth making a... More

Every time we come to the area we have dinner here, (as long as its Friday or Saturday). Mark the owner, stops by to chat and answer any questions. Always the freshest fish, interesting apps and salads, and the cinnamon roll bread pudding is to die for!! Our friend always orders the sand dabs. A real Central Coast cafe, good... More

I've eaten here a number of times for Breakfast and Lunch. If this were in another location we'd call it a diner. The menu offers things that the central California are known for: Artichokes, Squid, among others. The food is well prepared and things like the tea are listed as being faritrade and GMO free, always a big + for... More

Had an excellent breakfast driving from Monterey to SF. Very conveniently located just off Rt. 1. Rustic interior. Very friendly service. Fresh ingredients that were well prepared, artichokes of course! Great breakfast selection. Small, cozy interior, could easily fill-up quickly. I don't know if they take reservations.

Having been to Moss Landing Cafe for dinner we stopped to try it for lunch. No disappoint here. The deep fried artichokes, the skirt steak sandwich and the fish and chips were all outstanding. The wait staff very friendly and the food was served to perfection quickly. It was obvious from the interaction from adjoining tables that many of the... More

We drove into Moss Landing for dinner and went in this place expecting cafe food. Moss Landing cafe is only open for dinner on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. They transform the place to a high class restaurant for dinner these nights. We are talking expensive gourmet appetizers, meals, desserts, and wine. You do not expect this just by looking at... More

I was just looking for someplace for a 6:30 AM breakfast. I wasn't prepared for the terrific California Omelet whipped up by Filipe at the Moss Landing Cafe. It was as ample as it was delicious, served with refills of good coffee and tasty homefries. Still full from the omelet the next morning, we went back and they gladly cooked... More

What a fab cafe and superb service. Plenty of locals coming in which added to the atmosphere and helped to choose from the decent menu. Not the fanciest looking place but excellent none the less.

Their claim to fame is their clam chowder. Well, it was grossly overstated. We have eaten better clam chowder most every other place we have ordered it.
