After recommendations from friends and reading reviews, I had to make a stop here for a seafood lunch before heading home. The place was jam packed, which in my book is always a good thing! My husband waited in line to order, I got beers and found us a table. We sat outside closest to the beach. Wait time wasn't... More

We have been to Phil's several times. We like the food and especially the chowder to make the 3 1/2 hour trip for special occasions. This was the first time I have been disappointed with my food. Hamburger was hot and tasty for my husband, my son's shrimp salad was great. His wife and I ordered the child's fish plate,... More

When in Moss landing you must go to Phil's fish market. It is very primitive even has birds flying around but that is part of the atmosphere. The food is great the wait is usually pretty long especially on weekends and at dinner time. maybe 1/2 an hour or more. BUT it is such an experience. Love the clam chowder... More

I live close enough to make frequent day trips to the Monterey Bay Area and my family and I have learned that if seafood is what we are craving, Phil's is a must-go. The fish is ways very fresh, the cioppino is amazing and when the weather is good, tables right out on the sand. Phil's is not fancy, you... More

Phil's is an institution and the food justifies this. My only issue with this place is that during the weekend, you spend more time looking for a carpark, waiting in line to order (I spent almost half an hour waiting) then you need to fight for a seat in what is usually a stifling hot dining area. Don't get me... More

A friend recommended Phil's Fish Market and Eatery so we stopped by after a hike at Elkhorn Slough. Long line! When we got there, we asked how long the wait was and someone in line said 'a long time, but it's worth it!'. We probably waited an hour. The line inches along (slowly) but the weather was nice and we... More

What can I say....nothing really can beat my favorite lobster shack, Red's Eats, in Maine. But this will be the next best thing to it on the west coast. Funky atmosphere, sea gulls sometimes daring enough to try and get a bite of your food while you are sitting at your table....... Great for family, bikers, anyone really. Very reasonably... More

It wouldn't be vacation without a stop at Phil's. what an interesting place with all kinds of people. We always order too much because everything is soooo good. Cioppino is superb! I can never get enough of it & had some leftovers for breakfast! The cioppino is filled with crab, clams, fish, scallops & shrimp! Tried the stuffed artichoke which... More

Very dirty restaurant, inside and out. Calamari Fritti was cold, precooked and tough. Grilled scallops were good but the side dish of rice was cold and had obviously been sitting for a long while; salad is pretty good but not special. Even the bread wasn't fresh and served cold. This place is resting on an undeserved out of date reputation... More

My dinner was okay. Obviously everyone else felt differently. The line was long on Friday and extremely long on Saturday. My wife thought it was the best seafood she'd ever eaten and like I said others agreed. The outside patio gives one an awesome ocean view and beach access to walk off a great meal.
