Fish Shack Atmosphere with Delicious, Large Portions

We enjoyed a fantastic meal with friends at Phil's, seated at picnic tables in a dining room that could best be described as "rustic." The dining room was so packed, and the tables so close, that we chatted up our neighbors as well as our dining companions. Our meal was excellent. Two of us... read more

I read several reviews being coming here to Phil's. What was accurate - come early, long lines after 1130am on weekends, parking could be a bit tough. That being said, how was the food? Fish and chips were a little bit over battered, lobster roll was dry, the clam soup was pretty good, but a little pricey for what it... More

I live on the Central Coast and people rave about this restaurant. I've tried it before and wasn't enticed enough to return. However, I had a gift certificate and went to use it tonite. I was hungry. I ordered the 2 item fried plate-oysters and shrimp. Oysters were pretty good but the rest of the plate was bland. I split... More

Went with some co-workers who love this place. After waiting in a moderately long line, I told the cashier I would like a platter of various sautéed or grilled seafood. After waiting a very little amount of time the waiter brought my tray of food. There were many different types of seafood, all fried. Not really my thing, but I... More

We went to Phil's for lunch. We had the fire roasted Artichoke, the deep fried smelt and the Seafood Cioppino. A super lunch.

To say this place is casual is an understatement. But waited 45 minutes and it was good. Not great but not terrible. I had the lobster roll--just okay. Daughter had the cropping and said it was delicious.

I had the best seafood quesadilla on the planet at this place. This wasn't only amazing but everything my family ordered was amazing. Some of the best fried halibut anywhere! I definitely recommend this place if you are in the Monterey area!

One of the very best fish and seafood places along the famous Rt 1 that I have visited. I make this trip often and before this stopped close to this but right on Rt 1. This time a short way into Moss Landing yielded THE place to stop for the future. Great fish, prepared fresh and with honest discriptions. Lovely... More

My brother-in-law recommended this place on our drive down the coast from SF area towards LA. Very cool commercial fishing port. Huge restaurant facility where you walk in, place your order and pay the cashier, then grab an empty table, either inside or out. Lots of people in, about and on their way out, but we got through the ordering... More

The best thing about Phil's is that you can always count on consistently good fresh seafood. They are a gourmet establishment but their quality ingredients are as good as anyones. We love that we can take our small dogs and sit on the porch while we drink down wine and munch to our hearts content. You'll want to try everything... More
