Both times we visited, the food was very tasty. Both times we had difficulty finding parking because the place tends to get packed on the weekends. Be prepared to possibly walk some distance from your car and once you get inside, be prepared to wait in line to order (possibly a long line). We had the seafood sliders and a... More

I called the restaurant for information on take out cioppino. I showed up with a pot anticipating fresh cioppino. Instead, I was given 'old' cioppino which came out of a refrigerator. I was told that I had to order ahead of time. The person on the phone did not tell me that important information. I was very mad to say... More

Overall this isn't a bad place to eat, just keep in mind that it's not really a restaurant in the conventional sense. There is very limited parking and usually long lines at the one of maybe two registers where you place your order, the food is delivered fairly quickly though. The New England Clam Chowder was excellent; hot, flavorful, lots... More

This is one of our favorite places to eat. We make sure we go there every time we go to Monterey. Lots of food for the money. It can be really busy on a holiday weekend but they do a great job getting you your food very quickly.

It's Phil's. If you have not tried it then head over now. We went Sunday. The line longest we've seen it. Food is so good we did not give a second thought to not waiting. I usually have the steak & fries but afraid at my age I won't be able to see my toes. So I tried something different... More

Food is incredible! Huge portions, fresh, superb ingredients, interesting and creative. Parking is very difficult especially if you drive a non compact vehicle. Plan on walking to restaurant and standing in line for a long period of time to order. Wear comfortable shoes. I was surprised by the high end food quality in such a low end atmosphere. First of... Phil's Fish Market and Eatery offers a communal eating experience that is second to none when it comes to eating, not dining. You are accompanied by the clamor of more than a hundred diners heartily engaged in slurping their seafood entrées and by the clatter of bottles and glasses of a wide selection of beers and wines. All of this... More

We make an annual trip to Monterey and always include lunch at Phil's Fish Market. No frill's, just the best seafood ever! Our choices are always the same...their award winning cioppino and the fish & chips. Well worth the drive to Moss Landing...the marina on one side and the Pacific on the other.
