Very good

We arrived on a Monday night and it was sparsely occupied. Which was great for us. We had a groupon and got an appetizer, two glasses of wine and two meals for a reasonable price. We ordered the piccotte and they came out very hot, and pretty tasty. Beware of the garlic cloves! The food was... read more

We recently had a high quality meal at Giancarlo's; the best dinner we've had in Morro Bay among several of the well-known restaurants. Seared romaine and the anchovy flavor in my Caesar salad were very nice. I had ossobuco of lamb, classic and very tasty; my wife had salmon with a lemon/caper sauce over risotto which was done perfectly. Being... More

This is an upscale establishment that is off the coast and up the street a bit, but you will be so glad you found them once you walk into their restaurant. Everything they are about is FIRST CLASS! The service, the food, the wine, the dessert, the presentation, the selection, you name it. You will not be disappointed here. Not... More

Sunday Brunch was delightful. The Mimosas were the best I have ever tasted...not too orange and not too bubbly...just right. There were more guests than I think anticipated so while another server was on his way, January took very good care of everyone, including the party of 8. The presentation was amazing. Crab lets towered above the bowled china. My... More

We made reservations for 4, at one of our favorite restraunts on the Central Coast, two weeks before New Years Eve. During the day we had called to confirm that our reservations were set and were greeted with..." Mr. Smith we have you set for 7:00 and thank you for making your reservations early." (We took it to mean 2... More

Giancarlo's offers a lot of local coupons and what not, which is why we ended up buying a Groupon and spending dinner here. We were allotted one appetizer, two entrees, and two glasses of wine. Our appetizer was amazing, I had the lamb shank for dinner which was absolutely delicious. Just a heads up, the lamb shank is huge and... More

Went with my son (a chef). Only wine by the glass as mgr left with key. Rack of lamb poorly cooked, by staff. Ribs separated and cooked separately, not allowing for medium rare order when properly grill roasted-then divided. Must have been a sale on basalmic vinegar as it was sloshed over everything on both plates-sloppy presentation. Third rate staff... More

I'm going to give some slack on my rating, since our recent dinner here was on New Years' Eve with a group of 8. Having come for the food and not the celebration, we expected that it would be noisy. For this particular evening, the menu offered a fixed price dinner at either $39., $49. or $59. which included 3... More

After reading the reviews about the slow and poor service, I was a little apprehensive, but we had a groupon voucher and it was about to expire. Dillon (or Dylan) was our waiter. I felt so bad for him. He was the only server and the place was filled. He was so apologetic to every table. We waited 20 minutes... More

Perfectly fine if you give them some slack for a crowded holiday weekend and that this isn't Italy. Crusty bread pieces, olive oil, balsamic vinegar and lightly cooked whole garlic was much better than the usual bread and butter you get elsewhere. Caesar salad large and excellent. Wine by the glass selection also excellent. Main course weren't subtle but this... More
