Following a lot of great reviews, we went to this restaurant. I took a turkey sandwich which I had to throw away after a couple of bites as I didn't expect the turkey to be.. boiled. Not sure if it's my lack of familiarity with German cuisine or the dish I chose was simply not to my taste, but even... More

On the main boardwalk at Morro Bay, but in back (facing the bay) is a hidden food-gem. The Hofbrau carries an assortment of German beers, an array of side dishes, and several meat sandwich choices that make it oh so hard to choose. Everything looked, smelled and tasted great! We had a beef dip (tender, juicy, pink, and tasty) and... More

Great view of the sun setting and the rock. I had the prime rib and clam chowder. The prime rib was good and the bread was perfect. All accompanied by a Hofbrau hefe draft while sitting on their deck with a great view.

They have the best French dip around, and the view of the estuary is so peaceful. I also love their clam chowder in the winter, makes my day!

We had the Clam Chowder in a bread bowl and Fish, shrimp, and Fries. Everything was great. The clam chowder was very hot and seasoned just right with a lot of clams and other great stuff. The Deep fried shrimp, Fish and chips were battered just right and tasted great. This is the first time I tried the Fish, shrimp,... More

For a waterfront German restaurant it was just fine. We would eat there again. Nothing fancy. Cafeteria type serving, so it isn’t tableside but good location, fast and friendly staff.

Amazing beef sandwiches served simply and well, a no frills place which was super value. Well worth a visit if you are in the area. Portions of other offerings looked huge.

Glass panels and outdoor heaters keep you cozy while you enjoy a great meal and watch the sail boats enter the harbor.

This is a nice place with a decent menu. The staff was awesome and friendly, and you can eat out on the patio right near the water. It was a lot more casual than I expected though, which was okay for lunch burger.

Great food, although I admit I usually get the same roast beef sandwich and clam chowder each time. Good selection on menu but it's a la carte for the most part. If you order the sandwich, that's all you get (except for a pickle). Cold beer on tap. German warm potato salad, sauerkraut, fish-n-chips, hamburgers and French fries too, in... More
