Great food, huge portions

My wife and I were visiting the waterfront in Morro Bay, planning our next meal, when she decided that she had a thirst for Sangria. An internet search identified Taco Temple as a possible choice, and some local folks sitting nearby immediately began telling us how much they love this place. We... read more

I first saw Taco Temple on Diners, Drive-in’s and Dives and was excited to have the opportunity to try one of the show’s featured restaurants. When driving along the coast of California to San Diego, my family and I made a stop at Taco Temple and having already eaten our fair share of Mexican-inspired California food, were not sure if... We drove and walked past this restaurant several times and seeing it always busy had to try it. Wow! These are not your usual tacos. They are laid out flat and piled high with heathy fresh foods. On the menu when we were there, as tacos: White Sea bass, sea scallops , shrimp , to name a few . My... More

Huge portions. Mexican/Asian fusion. Great carnitas. Outstanding desserts, but go early: they run out of favorites every night. You'll see crowds waiting outside most evenings. Locals and tourists alike, it is a reliable favorite and a good value, especially if you split a meal, which is very easy to do

Was very fresh and large portions. Pricey, but worth it. Take cash, because they don't take cards. One taco was plenty of food. Firestone beer was good and cold.

We are locals and eat from the Temple at least once a week, either in the restaurant or for takeout. Hubby likes the quesadillas, either with chicken or without, and I get the $4.50 carnitas taco and it's WAY more than I can even eat. One taco = two tortillas, a huge pile of carnitas, piles of fresh greens, chopped... More

There's nearly always a wait for tables here, and once you dine in you easily understand why. The food, much of it featuring fresh seafood, is abundant and delicious. Each person in our group of four had different things, and we all loved what we ordered. But that didn't stop us all from cravenly coveting the scallop taco our friend... More

We enjoyed sharing sweet potato enchiladas and a fresh local halibut taco. The halibut was grilled to absolute perfection - it arrived super hot but exactly right. The taco was huge - loaded with amazing fresh salad fixings. Service was great - very friendly and attentive. Salsa and chips bar was great too. Just remember: cash or local check only.... More

The food was excellent and delicious. My wife had the shrimp taco. It is huge and worth the price. I had the carnitas Plate and it was the buy far the best carnitas I ever eaten. The major draw back was the service, as we had to wait to get refills and attention. Otherwise, I highly recommend this place.
