Taco Temple is a hidden treasure in Morro Bay! From the outside this restaurant is an old building that doesn't look like much. Once inside not much changes in regard to the decor. What's special is the great food; evidenced by the folks waiting outside for a table! Mexican Seafood offerings are their specialties. The meals are fresh, tasty and... More

We were in a Cayucos for a long weekend getaway and chose Taco Temple for lunch after reading the reviews. Sooo good and so much more than expected. These are not your typical tacos, more like a mix of taco, tostada and salad all in one. Cannot possibly pick these up to eat, you need to use a knife and... More

Fish tacos taken to an alternative edge. Mexican fast food recreated. A combination of Baja surf taco stand and good fish food restaurant. Our last visit offered an Alaskan Halibut taco plate. While "pricey" by comparison to the other food items, this was the best piece of halibut I have enjoyed in a decade! My spouse had the blackened California... More

Ok I have been here before and it was good but I have never been a big fan of fish tacos. So when in Rome, I decided to try their Sea Base tacos. Unbelievable! They were out of this world. They were served with mango salsa which made it even better. I am really looking forward to going back.

Eating at Taco Temple is a must for us each time we visit the SLO area 3-4 times a year. Expect to wait (which says it all), but it is worth it! The seafood is fresh (daily) and well prepared, but the "Killer Carrot Cake" is simply KILLER (order it for desert when you order your meal because when it... More

Have not been here in a while, but was happy to have stopped in! Packed as always, friendly staff and great food. Pumpkin enchiladas were fantastic and the scallop taco was superb (but expensive). Beer was cold and the chips and salsa rate well. Not fancy, but good!

We started off with the chips and salsa, which were fantastic. The chips were fresh and probably made on site. We should have ordered nachos. I ordered blackened alaskan cod tacos. I was not impressed with the fish itself. I only ate 1/3 of the fish. I couldn't taste any blackened seasoning. There was a mound of slaw on top,... More

Every time we visit San Luis Obispo we drive over to Morro Bay to pay homage to Taco Temple. Expect to wait especially on weekends or summer. This is a medium size free standing building in the corner of a parking lot with a view of the Pacific from the front door. Don't let that fool you. Although certainly casual,... More

WE visited this place after someone recommended it for my husbands favorite "Carrot Cake". We ordered 2 pieces and the waitress suggested we try one to split and then see if we needed the second. Well we had all we could do to finish the one, not to be confused, because of the large portion sz. We did ask for... More

Don't miss Taco Temple when you're cruising Hwy 1 on the California Central Coast. This is one of the best spots for Mexican food for several counties - especially if you enjoy fresh seafood ala Mexicana! Don't be alarmed by the price of the entree - it is enough for two people. I recommend you split an order and maybe... More
