We read up about Stax on Tripadvisor and visited on a Sunday night on our way up Highway 1. Stax is located on the Power Plant end of Morro Bay's waterfront (hence stacks!). The interior is inviting with plenty of wood, and the staff were friendly. We took the tasting menu of wines (5 wines for $10). The wines were... More

Friendly atmosphere, nice selection of wines. The owners were chatty and fun to talk to. Live acoustic guitar entertainment was great

So we are a few months on since we went on tour from LA up to San Fran over to Yosemite and on to Vegas and I find myself thinking about how much we enjoyed Stax in Morro Bay (this is the first review I have written on that trip this far which probably speaks volume). Whilst Stax was quiet... More

We stopped in on a Sunday afternoon for their paninis because we had read the reviews. They did not disappoint. My husband had the grilled chicken panini which he liked and I had an Italian meat Panini which was good. Stax was offering a champagne tasting that day. I tried one glass of champagne from the selection and it was... More

Thoughtful attendants, explained about the wine, gave good suggestions. We arrived at the bar near closing time, but still the service was gracious and nothing rushed. Enjoyed a good night! If you want to taste a good wine and relax, do not miss the lovely Stax!

We enjoyed the filet Mignon panini, and the assorted meat plate with olives. Beverage glasses were frosty, and cold to compliment the beer on tap. Worth a visit when you are in Morro Bay.

We went on a Wednesday evening and they had two for 1 wine tastings. The staff were nice and helpful. The food was fantastic but they could do with a few more options. Some music in the background would have been good too.

Service was great; we were impressed by the chilled water glasses. Everything was tasty but being next to the ocean it would be nice to have some sort of fish plate. The wine selection was not impressive and too expensive for a wine bar. Local wines were hardly represented, which is very surprising given that we are in the middle... More

Ok, we had 2 glasses of red wine and just wanted something sweet. STAX just started carrying a chocolate plate. Cost $7.99 and worth $20 anywhere else. All handmade, we got a lovely plate that included 2 of their version of a graham cracker cookie with a lemon glaze dollop, 1 dark chocolate that the center was dried papaya with... More

The restaurant is along the harbor but does not have a view. The staff is very friendly and the prices are a little on the high side. My wife enjoyed the chicken panini sandwich. It had melted cheese with grilled onion and peppers. Included with the sandwich was a small bowl of Spanish almonds. I ordered the ultimate crostini which... More
