We love Montrose, visiting Honolulu street. We discovered this restaurants years ago, we were at a classic car show. The bread is like carrot cake, delicious. One of my favorite lunches is the salmon salad...also delicious. My husband loves the sand dab dinner. We have eaten there many times, always love it. Also a great place for breakfast. Go and... This is a favorite restaurant of ours but we don't get there for breakfast often enough. Their Joe's scramble with ground beef, spinach & cheese was delicious. Homemade bread (toasted) & jam. Coffee strong just the way we like it.

Very nice place; we arrived on a Sunday about 1pm. We were initially told it would be a 30-minute wait, but 5-10 minutes later we were in. We were given a breakfast menu and a lunch menu; we both ordered off the latter. This is in a great location for tourists like us. Cute street, plenty of parking, nice shops... More

We went to the Black Cow Cafe for a late lunch with some family that lives in the quaint town of Montrose near LA. The town is adorable. The cafe is on the main drag and it had indoor and outdoor seating, we parked and came in from the back so we sat inside. Their soup with zucchini bread was... More

Great location on a quaint street in Montrose, you wouldn't think you are in the Los Angeles area; very peaceful and upscale environment. The menu is simple and all items are deliciously prepared. Salads and Sandwiches are all filling and great!

I just got home from enjoying lunch at the Black Cow Café in Montrose, CA. This is a fun place to eat; the decor is interesting (many items and things to look at); patrons can eat inside or at tables on the sidewalk outside; and...the food is delicious! The menu offers many options with a page of specials. From the... More

The cafe is located in downtown Montrose. There are a few tables outside. There are a wide variety of items on the menu. We had the salads and they were all very good. The salads are served with a side of zucchini bread or whatever bread they have for the day. They also have a counter where you can get... More

I went to the Black Cow three times while on a trip visiting my family nearby and couldn't get enough. Both the fish tacos and the sand dabs were fantastic! Service was very personable and efficient, we were never left waiting. I would recommend to anybody as a must go establishment.

You will likely see a line at the door of this local place if you go on a weekend. If there is a wait, it is worth it. Go for it and you will be very happy with the wonderful food. This is the hard part: study the menu -- it is unusual and it will be hard to decide.... More

The Black Cow has an amazing and creative brunch menu. It has been a family favorite for years. It is always busy! Make a day of it by having brunch and then attending the Farmer's Market down the street.
