My wife and I were in Boil Heights to take flowers to her Father. As we were only 6 miles from Cook's we decided to make a day of it. This is the second time we've stopped at Cook's. There food is ALWAYS delicious, fairly priced and the service is friendly. My wife had the Cubana sandwich (#59) and she... More

Had the lengue sandwich (beef tongue) which is an unusual menu item, but it was excellent. the meat was tender and the bread and vegetables on it were excelllent. Really enjoyed the tabbouleh side - obviously good ingredients. Topped it off with the Strawberry Agua Fresca which was perfect. I go every time I get to Monterey Park

I found this place while driving through Monterey Park. It is not a large place. Dining area maybe seats 20 people. The menu is kind of an eclectic blend of different foods with a Mexican twist. the owners do a decent job of maintaining the quality of the food. They bake their bread fresh each day. The service is awesome... More

The Tortas and the agua frescas are delicious. They aren't the typical Mexican Tortas or aguas frescas but their version on these two items are impressive. I've the asada and chorizo torta (#50... I think?) and it was delicious. It's definitely shareable too I've also had the BBQ chicken salad. Huge portion and flavorful too. The aguas frescas are all... More

I have to say it's good and satisfies the taste buds. This place is popular even with the local Asian community who would usually stick to the Asian eats in this area. If you are a foodie, you've gone here many times. I'll say I do enjoy the food, but I realize that if I want a real torta, I... More

I feel embarrassed to say this was the first time I ate at Cook's Tortas. I grew up in Monterey Park and passed by CT countless of times. It was packed on a Sunday afternoon. Every table was occupado and there were at least 15 people in line. I decided to stick with carne asada (cashier told me this was... More

We have been going to this place for years. They always have great food. Must try is the bombero, sweet potato fries (ask for aioli), and the empanadas.

The reason it's not the best place for lunch is not that the food isn't as good, but it is insanely crowded, and there are a number of good eateries that you have neither the wait nor the noise. The two sides of the place are painted with blackboard paint. The wall opposite the entrance contains the daily sandwich menu... More

I am glad to have the honor of giving the first review for Cook's. There is no other score to give this but an excellent. The food quality is great, drinks are fresh and delicious, atmosphere is wonderful and the amount you get for the price feels like a bargain. It all starts with the special Torta they make. Add...
