Stopped for a light dinner on my arrival to Monterey. Easy to find and nicely located on Alvarado (a main shopping/ dining/ walking street). The place is small and the food is good. Chicken shwarma plate was good and the accompanying salad was excellent. Spices were flavorful without being overpowering. Service was friendly.

My husband and I stopped in for lunch during the course of our walking tour of historic Monterey. We had no idea what we'd find for restaurant options in the area, but we enjoy Mediterranean food and thought we'd check it out. We were not disappointed. I had the falafel wrap and my husband the gyros wrap. Both were delicious.... More

Food is nice and is more delicious than the presentation. Owner is very warm and welcoming and is willing to make off menu items to cater to the children if you ask her. The only down side of the cafe is that it is a one man operation so expect to wait for your food to be freshly prepared and... More

Great option for vegans and vegetarians. Small cafe, friendly owner vibe, high-quality food, small restaurant not special decor but worth the visit for the food.

We waited a long time only to get the wrong food. Tasted ok, but the tsatziki sauce had too much garlic. Their version of tabouleh was a green salad.

The appetizers were a huge plus during our late December 2012 visit. Asser's wife made some off-the-menu food for us and came to talk Egyptian food and politics at our table. We loved this place for quirky charm, service, and low price.

We were passing through on our way to Big Sur and wanted to find a good place for lunch. We happened by Koko's Cafe and were very pleased to find this mediterranean menu! It was kind of a small place, but a great atmosphere with a couple of couches and small tables that can be rearranged (we had a party... More

I hate to say it but I ordered a gyro and it was the worst I have ever had. It didn't look appetizing but I was starving so I took a bite. It had no flavor. I looked for the nearest trash can and threw it away. Very disappointed....and will never go back.

Koko's Cafe is super unique. Great Foods-I personally like lamb shawerma-nice sauce, spices along with hibiscus tea-amazing! It offers nice healthy appetizers-perfect for vegetarians out there. Don't forget different kindsof Gelatos! Service is super friendly. Warm, cozy and comfortable atmosphere with excellent service. Cafe is very rich with historical representations of the Mediterreanen Paradise-its music always relaxing to hear and... More
