Menu highlights include Greek lamb & beef gyros, tri-tip & chicken shawerma (the meats cooked on a rotating vertical broiler), tabouli & Greek salads, the ever-popular falafels & family recipe vegetarian lentil soup. Vegetarian dishes include personal sized greek pizzas, spinach/feta pie, roasted egglant dip & dolma (grape leaves stuffed with rice, parsley, tomato & spices). Koko's Cafe is super unique. Great Foods-I personally like lamb shawerma-nice sauce, spices along with hibiscus tea-amazing! It offers nice healthy appetizers-perfect for vegetarians out there. Don't forget different kindsof Gelatos! Service is super friendly. Warm, cozy and comfortable atmosphere with excellent service. Cafe is very rich with historical representations of the Mediterreanen Paradise-its music always relaxing to hear and... More

Mothers Day lunch with my husband....first (and last) time at Kokos. I felt sorry for the poor girl who was both front and back of house. Started with getting our own drinks out of the cooler, while she fixed our tzatki appetizer. Tzatki was good -not great but good. Loved the soft pita bread. I ordered tri tip schwerma while... More

My husband and I were looking for a quick, but good bite to eat in downtown Monterey while on a weekend trip. Based on fairly high reviews on Google, we decided to try Koko's cafe as we both love Greek and Mediterranean food. We were extremely disappointed with our experience basically from the beginning to end. We arrived for a... More

We were lured in by the gelato. The menu posted by the door posted prices that were considerably lower than what is actually charged inside ($6.50 for a cup - really?!) Having said that, it was really, really good gelato though. We also ordered a gyro sandwich which took forever to come. It was slightly greasy and just ok. The... More

No one in Monterey has a better selection or better quality of Gelato.I had the Tiramasu and tasted a few others like Spumoni!! I had walked past this place so be careful not to miss this hidden gem. It is right across from Walgreens and next to the State Theatre. Very nice atmosphere and music too with interesting books and... More

We were wowed to see Koko's Café in the Alvarado Street farmers market. My friend had the vegetarian fava bean salad, which was awesome. The chicken shish kebab I tried was definitely the best food I have ever had in this farmers market. The added surprise were the different choices from the Koko's menu, and the lower prices. Highly recommended,... More

Looking for a reasonably prices, casual, delicious meal ... Koko's is a great place to stop for just that sort of mea. When you are in a town like Monterey you want everything to be really special, but you don't necessarily have time, energy or the cash for a white table cloth. Koko's will make you feel like you got... More

Some friends and I visited Kokos during the recent Bridge tournament at the conference center. We spent a pleasant Saturday dinner there and were very pleased with the food and service. My friends liked it so much they went back to dine several time during the week.
