Description: Loulou's Griddle in the Middle is the tiny diner on Wharf #2. We always say we're "tiny but mighty." We cook with a lot of heart, soul, and deep care about every detail. We aim to make your experience comfortable, fun, delicious, and a little like being at a home-away-from-home. The kitchen is open so you can see our chefs preparing right in front of you. Our community of customers--both local and visitors from far away--also make Loulou's special. We bend over backwards to accomodate your requests, when we can, and we might crown you with a tiara if your requests are many....but all in fun. The diner opened in 1948, so it's rich with history. We're blessed with one customer, Henry, who has been coming EVERY morning since 1948 and he's earned a customized stool, a plaque, his own coffee mug, and a warm place in our hearts.

Jamaican music, outdoor setting with warm sun to enjoy the view of the wharf. Our young man waiter was all smiles and interactive to create the lively atmosphere and then unbelievably the hamburger with salad and fries and clam chowder, my friend ordered, were all tasty..most tasty. What a fun day at LouLou's.

Fries and chowder were really good. No refills given or offered and what's with the girl greeting customers with a total attitude. Server was nice but no refills and no follow up. No kids menu and onions are in the kids burger which my son wouldn't eat. Nothing though peeves me more than seeing this same girl there on her... More

Our family of four rode our bikes over to Municipal Wharf on a beautiful, sunny morning for breakfast at LouLou's, and Wow! We had read the reviews and expected a tasty meal, but what we didn't expect was the size of the portions. Both our daughters ordered pancakes, and our server clearly notified us that the servings were large, but... More

On the last day of our family visit to Pacific Grove, seven of us went to Loulou's for breakfast. The sun was shining and we sat out on the pier. They cheerfully accommodated our large group, despite space limitations (there is very limited seating inside). The food was so good, especially the basil-topped potato hash that came with breakfast. We... More

Get the sea food omelet. Best potatoes too. Great seating outside on the wharf. I would go there again and again

Showed up at 8am to avoid the crowd. Omelettes, pancakes and oatmeal all first rate. Great hot chocolate, too. Special touches include fresh pico de gallo on the eggs and caramelized sugar (creme brûlée style) on the oatmeal. Owners and rest of staff are warm and friendly. Beautiful on a sunny morning on the pier.

This is a fun, funky restaurant with good food and in a beautiful location. It's not fancy and when you eat outside you're sitting on the wharf with pedestrians and cars going by. The portions are good. My crab cake salad came with 2 large, well prepared crab cakes on greens, with bacon, nuts, and beets and plated very attractively.... More

My wife and I both had one and they were excellent. 3 eggs and lots of seafood and cheese. Very large portion and we should have shared the plate to not be stuffed. Very fast and excellent service. Would definitely visit again.

Great location. Weekday visit was not crowded. Award winning clam chowder was good but not a winner for me. Salad was very good. Crab cakes were just ok. The service was good with a friendly waitress. As a tourist I thought it was a great thing to do but I probably wouldn't visit a second time.

Located on the "working wharf" as opposed to the tourist wharf, this little place has funky charm and very good breakfast and lunch. Next door is the Monterey Yacht Club and on Wednesday nights you can watch the races start at 6:00 PM. Service is rated a 3 because you can expect to wait at very busy times like Sunday... More
