Description: Loulou's Griddle in the Middle is the tiny diner on Wharf #2. We always say we're "tiny but mighty." We cook with a lot of heart, soul, and deep care about every detail. We aim to make your experience comfortable, fun, delicious, and a little like being at a home-away-from-home. The kitchen is open so you can see our chefs preparing right in front of you. Our community of customers--both local and visitors from far away--also make Loulou's special. We bend over backwards to accomodate your requests, when we can, and we might crown you with a tiara if your requests are many....but all in fun. The diner opened in 1948, so it's rich with history. We're blessed with one customer, Henry, who has been coming EVERY morning since 1948 and he's earned a customized stool, a plaque, his own coffee mug, and a warm place in our hearts.

This is a tiny little place that sits on the side of a pier, but wow, do they churn out some fabulous food. We were two of the first customers of the morning, and both had omelet teas. I can't remember ever having a better breakfast. We may need to go back before we leave! It is not a prom... More

There are a whole bunch of seafood places along the stretch of the wharf but if you want good, authentic, seafood in a no-fuss type of environment, then Loulou's is where you should head to. The serve the best clam chowder - light and tasty, not the typical out of a can sort. The fried oyster (the chef's special) is... More

We loved this place! TINY, almost claustrophobic, but the people were soooooo warm, caring, and accommodating. The food was great, and the price was very reasonable. We went for dinner but would love to also come for breakfast, but the waits must be incredible cause there are so few seats. A neat find!

Very disappointing. It's a cute looking shack on the wharf dock but not very good food or atmosphere. Trucks & cars driving close by as you eat & too-loud music disturb the natural sounds of the wharf you want to hear if you're going to be here. The food was just average (calimari & fish & chips) - nothing special,... More

My wife and I are from Ohio, and we recently took a ten-day vacation along the California Coast beginning in Monterey and ending in Laguna Beach. We had breakfast with some friends that had relocated to California, and they suggested that we meet at Lou Lou’s Griddle in the Middle, which was located on Monterey’s municipal wharf #2. The place... More

Hearty, delicious breakfast on the wharf! Had a 30 minute wait to get seated in this tiny joint smack dab on the wharf. We took that time to walk down and see the cute sea lions playing on the boats and we even found a place to buy fresh fish at the end! Service was quick and easy. Menu has... More

Awesome food, awesome service. It's a hole in the wall that we happened to walk past on fisherman's wharf. Great outside seating. BEST fish n' chips I've ever had hands down- and I've been to Ireland. It's a small joint- but a must for sure!!

Tiny little shack, totally unpretentious. You can see the chefs cooking your food in front of you. Reasonably priced - great burgers and fish tacos.

We had read all of the wonderful reviews on Tripadvisor and were not disappointed. We had planned on an early arrival like the reviews mentioned although we arrived around 9 AM and immediately sat down at an outside table. Staff very attentive and quick to respond to requests. This place has one of the best views and it was enjoyable... More
