Description: Loulou's Griddle in the Middle is the tiny diner on Wharf #2. We always say we're "tiny but mighty." We cook with a lot of heart, soul, and deep care about every detail. We aim to make your experience comfortable, fun, delicious, and a little like being at a home-away-from-home. The kitchen is open so you can see our chefs preparing right in front of you. Our community of customers--both local and visitors from far away--also make Loulou's special. We bend over backwards to accomodate your requests, when we can, and we might crown you with a tiara if your requests are many....but all in fun. The diner opened in 1948, so it's rich with history. We're blessed with one customer, Henry, who has been coming EVERY morning since 1948 and he's earned a customized stool, a plaque, his own coffee mug, and a warm place in our hearts.

Great food but I had 2 different kinds of hair in my food and my moms silverware was so dirty the napkin was actually stuck to it! But great food.

So very worth the wait. We ended up waiting about 45 minutes so walking around the wharf was no problem. They called us when our table was ready and we made our way back. The food was DELICIOUS. I ordered one of the specials, my brother got calamari, and my mom got crab cakes as we just missed the end... More

Parking on the Pier was fun in itself. I can't recall ever being allowed to drive on a pier so that was a great part of going to Loulou's. We went for breakfast and it was GREAT! Upon arriving, we noticed its a very small restaurant. We got lucky and got seated right away however many families showed up and... More

We had to wait about 50 mins at 9 am but would have to say its worth it, I had probably the best omelette I've ever had, bacon, cheddar, mushroom and spinach and my son had the biggest and best breakfast burrito and my daughter's pancake was simply obscene. That was really my only complaint that I would think that... More

Everyone agrees, Loulou's is AWESOME! We had breakfast this morning. It's almost 12 hours later and eating again seems reasonable. The generous portions are legendary but the secret ingredient is the great food. Egg dishes are fabulous and served up quickly. The potatoes, onions, and basil are outstanding. Delicious pancakes are humongous and take a long time to cook -... More

I am a cook and maybe over critical. We have been looking for good eats in Monterey for a long time, going from one good find to another. LouLou's executed their dishes very well, however, we had a few negatives. We had the fish and chips. The beer batter was excellent, with a distinctive beer flavor. The fries were crisp... More

We always take visitors here and they love the omelettes. If a customer does not see what she/he wants, they can always order their own delicious combo. I'm not surprised the staff are so friendly and lively even in the early hours-humor is abundant here. I expected good food but not such fun! We took our daughter, her three year... More

This is such a great little restaurant spot! They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner, but we only did the breakfast - twice, since we stayed two nights. They have linguica, which is a delectable Portuguese sausage and Loulou's potatoes are the best!!!! It's almost worth going there for just her potatoes!!! They're that good! Also, they serve the Largest pancake... More

Love this place for breakfast. It's on the Municipal Wharf in Monterey. It has a few tables that you can eat outside, or a long diner type bar with a few tables inside. The day I was here last, Guy Fiere was here the day before shooting a segment for his show, Diners, Drive-ins and Dives on the Food Network.

the best little breakfast place in monterey :) teeny, tiny little diner, that makes the biggest pancakes i've ever seen! no, really... they hang over the sides of the plate... like 12" diameter cakes... could not believe it! i opted for a linguica and mushroom omlette and was very satisfied. the staff is super friendly too. there are a few...
