Me and my friends came there for breakfast while our short stay in Monterey. The food was so good, staff was really nice. They made me a special sandwich because I can't eat everything, they had so mamy items that it is hard to choose. We liked that they had youghurt and fresh fruit. Coffee was also very good.

My girlfriend and I were visiting Monterey from Europe and we both love pastries and French food so we were pretty excited when we discovered a French bakery. The excitement was short-lived. The service was not attentive, and not pleasant. The French onion soup was not good and the quiche Lorraine was average. To be fair, we did not try... More

There is something very sweet about this place in Monterey. I have been twice now and love the sights and smells and the tastes too of course! But if you are anything like me you might have trouble choosing.

You must stop in here. We had free street parking --got lucky. The service is friendly and the staff was helpful. The croissant was amazing and so was the coffee. I couldn't decide what to pick, but ended up choosing the princess cake. Perhaps little girls would like to choose this because it is pink and looks cool, but I... More

I've been to France several times, and have eaten at numerous french bakeries both in France and in the US. This was by far the best ham and cheese croissant I have ever had. Crunchy, flaky, hot from the oven, exactly the right proportion of meat and cheese. Delicious! (We didn't have much other than the croissants, but all of... More

I'm French and fussy when it comes to baked goods. I've eaten in France, so when I heard the owner was French, I had high hopes. Not so! My croissant, though hot from the oven, was forgettable, and neither my husband nor I can remember what he ate. The service was dismissive of us. The "fresh" bread was so disappointing I... More

I found the Paris Bakery Cafe by accident whilst staying in Monterey for a couple of days. What a find. The service was prompt and friendly and all the food looked mouth watering. There was so much choice for breakfast it was hard to know what to choose. Ended up going back two days in a row and also getting... More

This is not just the closest thing we have found to a French style bakery since returning from Paris, this place is actually BETTER than some of the ones we visited in Paris. If you are in Monterey, and you haven't visited this place, you are doing something wrong. I highly recommend it for that late morning/early afternoon starter or... More
