We always stop here when visiting Monterey and it is a fairly solid restaurant. It has changed hands a few times over the years but the calamari appetizer and clam chowder cannot be beat! Excellent! The specials are good, rich and served nicely. The prawns were very good, halibut prepared well. The clams tasted old - not plump, perhaps overcooked.... More

This looked like a nice place to have lunch; right on the waterfront on a lovely sunny day. The food on display looked awesome so we decided to dine here. We were seated quickly and our server was quick with the menus but a little too pushy with the cocktails. We only wanted water! We only had an hour to... More

Walked over to Cannery Row yesterday to see the outstanding Monterey Bay. Many restaurants to choose from but fortunately, we walked into the Fish Hopper. The place was packed so we sat at the bar next to where the waitstaff picked up their drink orders. The view was outstanding and the food was really good but the most important thing... More

Best food i had in California so far. Well that is compared to socal. We had the broiled sardines and the crab ravioli with lobster sauce. 1 menu is enough for 2:)

Second time in 4 years that we had dinner here. The food is ok, nothing special, but the view over the ocean is really nice and the value-for-money is quite good. Easy walk if, like us, you are staying in a hotel on Cannery Row.

Fish Hopper's location over the water in Monterey Bay is most excellent, which makes it a good location for a meal, but don't get your hopes up too high for the food. Nothing bad but the food is not as good as it should be for a seaside seafood restaurant. The service is okay, but nothing to write home about.... More

On arriving we were shown to a table which was not at the window so asked if we could sit where we had a view. That was ok but why were we offered the other table first? Anyway service was great apart form that and food of a good standard too. Enjoyed watching the wildlife and the waves.

We had just come out from visiting the aquarium and it was time for lunch. We spotted the Fish Hopper and decided to go there despite reservations that it may be a bit "Touristy" . Well it was great. We asked for a seat near the window. I must say I have never seen a restaurant so designed as to... More
