Walked in for a quick lunch and took the calamari sandwich. It tasted great, was cheap for such a big portion and the service was quick.

While on vacation and staying on Cannery Row, we walked here for breakfast one morning. It is an excellent restaurant. I had their breakfast special with kielbasa and my wife had the chorizo wrap. The service and prices are also the same as the food--excellent. We will eat here again on our next visit to Monterey.

A terrific find for breakfast! Fresh ingredients and rather large portions. Had a healthy bowl of fresh fruit and coffee. Others had 4 egg omelettes and pancakes which covered the whole dinner plate! So much better than the commercial chain restaurants. But I couldn't believe some of the quantities of food people were eating! Very reasonable prices. Friendly service and... More

This little restaurant in downtown Monterey was a great find for breakfast. It opens early and has a wide variety of food. We had a Belgian waffle that was excellent. Their Papas Abuelo, with potatoes, peppers, onions, cheese, sour cream, guacamole, and tomatoes, was spectacular. The home-made salsa topped it off nicely. The service was friendly.

We were on our motorcycle and asked a random stranger about a good breakfast restaurant in town. With no hesitation she pointed us here. With a small line it's a popular spot. It was well worth the small wait. Highly recommended!

Spent the night in Monterey after driving the 1N from Santa Barbara. Woke up to a foggy Sunday morning, but found a bright spot at the Cafe. Stopped in on a recommendation of a local walking by, had read good things on TA about the place. Ordered a light breakfast as we stopped at Red's Donuts as we walked to... More

Been around for a longtime. Local favorite. Unpretentious. Hint for breakfast, anything with a Mexican flavor. Large portions. Crowded on weekends.

When you see a bee-line formed in front of a restaurant filled with the locals, you know you want to join the hoo-hah & challenge your taste buds. This is exactly the scene of Old Monterey Café, especially on a typical Sunday brunch. I can see this is where everyone meets. Serving good old American breakfast along with Mexican choices,... More

We're at our timeshare this Father's Day weekend, and our daughter and son-in -law blessed us with breakfast at Old Monterey Cafe. Dad had the ham and egg scramblers which had ALOT of ham with the eggs, daughter & son-in-law shared scramble eggs, hashbrown potatoes, crisp bacon, waffle, french toast, and sliced fresh strawberries with hot chocolate. I had the... More

My boyfriend and I ate breakfast here after a nights camp in Verterans Park on a roadtrip. A smal little diner but SO YUMMY! They had a large menu with lunch options as well. Every table got fresh homemade salsa. They had a number of breakfast items with a mexican flare which I loved. Josh made his own omelet. Guacamole... More
