Great bang for you buck!

I love breakfast, although it is a simple and easy meal to do. This place did not disappoint! There are no frills here, just a nice small place to have a great breakfast at a very reasonable price. It is worth a try!

The food was delicious and the portions were enormous. I had an omelet with spinach, mushrooms, onions, and ground beef and I barely finished it even though I was STARVING. Oh, and I substituted fruit for the included hash browns. I expected a small fruit cup, and instead probably got two cups-worth of melon. I also tried others' pancakes (fluffy... More

Wife had cinnamon swirl Texas toast French toast with bacon. Fantastic service, good food. If you have a physical disability, be advised that it is tight quarters. We would return in a heartbeat.

This is a favorite of locals as well as tourists who hear about it. Every time we have been there we have had to wait at least 20 minutes or longer as the restaurant is small and cramped. First the good stuff. The food is good qualified by we have only eaten there for breakfast. Next the not so good... More

We only ate here for breakfast. Delicious! Portions were so big we had enough left over for the next day. I had the blueberry pancakes and they actually had real blueberries! My husband had the corned beef hash, really good!!!

My wife's brother brought us here and it was a treat. Long and narrow, the decore is colorful and local. The wait staff was friendly, attentive and efficient. Regulars they greated by name. The portions were large and seemed to please everyone. Big menu so feel free to experiment with your choices. Enjoy

Every day of our annual visit to Monterey starts with breakfast at the Old Monterey Cafe. Yes, it's crowded and, yes, it's noisy but the breakfasts are of good quality and the staff are both pleasant and efficient. On the weekends it is not unusual to have to wait for a table - in fact the line may well be... More

This is a friendly place, we went in AM and found that lunch items were also available. The portions are huge. There is a good variety of items with some ethnic influences . My husband had a potato dish and I had a Greek salad with shrimp. Despite getting the " small" size salad I did not finish it but... More

You cannot beat this place. A locals hangout for sure. Good home cooked meals done just right. Very busy, but efficient service. The waitstaff do an excellent job of keeping your coffee and water filled. If in Monterey do not pass this place by
