Very Good Breakfast

We stop here for breakfast every time we visit in Monterey. The food is very good and the same for the service. This place it very busy and this time we had to wait for a short time to get seated but it was worth the wait. They have very good selections on their menu and prices are reasonable... read more

We went on a Wednesday morning and the restaurant was completely full. We believe that the overcrowding led to somewhat subpar service-- it took a while to be seated, to get beverages, and to actually speak to our waiter. That said, the staff was clearly working hard and this was likely due to the high popularity of the restaurant. Joe's... More

As other reviews will tell you, this place a busy and you often have to wait...but it's worth it. We had breakfast here, a vast menu, huge portions, all of it home made and fresh; great OJ, nice coffee and hash to die for. Everyone of the five of us ate something different, and everyone raved about it. Go on,... More

I had heard there were wait times for this place and those people weren't kidding. I arrived a little after ten on a Tuesday morning and this place was still packed. I felt a little invisible as I stood awkwardly by the door waiting for a table for one. I was seated and was offered coffee pretty much right away.... More

Brilliant, what a find whilst we were in Monterey for 2 nights. It must give Denny's a run for their money, as Denny's is only 3 minutes away. Everything is homemade, fresh, hot and the size of their pancakes is unbelievable. They are the size of dinner plates. I had their Portlander omlette one morning, which was really nice and... More

We ate here for the 1st time yesterday morning. It was delicious. I had the Castroville scramble (scrambled eggs with artichoke hearts), hash browns (crispy), and a light fluffy pancake. They make a wonderful salsa to put on your eggs or anything else you want to. Really full for the whole day.😄

The menu was huge and the breakfast was fantastic. Very crowded so you need to make sure you are OK on the time. The staff and service was excellent and the food was delivered quickly once we were able to order.

We heard the pancakes were good from the hotel so we went here to try them. Its a small diner with maybe 20 tables and lots of 60s-70s memobilia on the walls. We had the pancakes and an omelet with hash browns and everything was good; pretty standard breakfast. Nice and friendly staff. A mix of locals and tourists were... More

We were needing just a good, solid breakfast place that wasn't Denny's. It was good albeit a bit pricier than Midwest prices. Service was friendly. Food was good, but it's hard to screw up breakfast. Decor is that of shabby, baby boomer TV shows: photos of Lassie, Zorro...you get the idea. Not great; not bad and it got the job... More
