This place is busy!!!

Excellent grilled snapper/vegetables and pasta. This place was PACKED at 5:00 on a Thursday. I was a solo so got a seat at the bar, otherwise be prepared to wait. Fast service, excellent food at a good price. It is away from the tourist areas. Make a reservation!

This is a tiny little house, and even though I made reserations we had to wait about 20 mintues crammed in the bar, as it was cold outside. Once we were sat everything picked up, the meal was great, we started with a fried calamari appetizer & it was delicious. I ordered the crab cakes, they were great! They were... More

Great, great, great dinner with the locals. Food and company were excellent. Go early! The place fills up quickly after the 5 pm opening. Grilled artichoke to die for.

We knew we were at the right place when there was a line out front 30 minutes before they opened. It was a little pricy but worth the money. Very fresh, very good

Amazingly this tiny converted bungalow in an industrial area keeps busy despite the plain and unappetizing food for which the management charges a premium. The eating space is practically communal, with no privacy whatsoever. We shared a table with a delightful family from Alaska. But that is as far as the fun went. Our seafood dishes were overdone, dry to... More

The in season fresh halibut cooked on an oak flame is the best tasting fish ever! The pasta with fresh artichoke hearts, with fresh mussels, fresh clams, and prawns in cream sauce was a close second. Such a find!

We were told it was an hour long wait. We started to wait but after 20 minutes the wind had picked up outside and it was just too uncomfortable to wait there. When we asked again how long, they said it would be at least another 30 minutes. Then they said hat we could get take out if we preferred.... More

We learned of the Fish House from the manager of the Deer Haven Inn in Pacific Grove. We got there early in the middle of the week, yet it was already crowded. By 5:30 people were already lined up outside. Seating was cramped, but that was made up for by the outstanding meal we enjoyed, chionnopino, probably spelled it incorrectly.... More

The best seafood in the world. It's a good thing I don't live closer, because I'd want to eat here every day and my waistline would be bulging!

Best dinner of our one week stay in Monterey! Came here because it was on Diners, Drive-Ins & Dives, didn't disappoint. Had Oak Grilled Oysters, delicious! Split a Sicilian Seaood Pasta between us, really fresh, tasty, no overpowering spices added, just fresh, perfectly cooked prawns, tuna, salmon, squid, clams, and pasta. Recommend this place, for sure... reserve ahead, or you... More
