We had the best halibut and salmon we've ever had. We sat at the bar and the gentleman that took care of us was top notch. The clam chowder was the best we had all week.

we arrived at 6:25 and luckily, do you two no-shows for reservations, we were seated in 15 to 20 minutes. Our table near the bar and kitchen service window was quite noisy but the food is really good. For an appetizer, we had the grilled artichoke which came served on Caesar salad dressing and was very tasty. I had the... More

Theres always a line of people waiting to get into this place and there is good reason for that. I am a business traveler and will not go into a restaurant unless there are cars in the parking lot and natives at the tables. No need to about either here. The service and food is excellent and the only reason... More

Make a reservation because this small family style restaurant is always full. We ate there two nights in a row and the meals were excellent and reasonable for the quality of the food and the service. We would go back anytime. The fish is fresh and the meal is plentiful. They have a full bar and a great selection of... More

Food is great, prices are reasonable. Reserve and go early. People start waiting outside - with reservations - when they open. It can get very noisy. Ask for a table in the side room

Found this place after checking reviews on TA and was a little disappointed. Although this is a market and the fish is very fresh, I can only assume that we didn't order the right things. My husband had the grilled crab cakes where were not made with lump meat crab and tasted mostly made of breading which made them mushy.... More

If you are going with friends, bring cash. The restaurant won't split tickets, so don't go with stingy friends. The food is incredible and they serve huge portions. I had the king salmon and it was incredible. The house is packed but the service did not gel rushed. A must visit at Monterey.

We went for lunch and we must have timed it right. There was zero wait; we were led to a table as soon as we walked in. This is not your regular touristy place. It is a simple restaurant with minimal decor in an ordinary location. Freshly baked small sesame loaves were served a few minutes after we were seated.... More
