I was brought here after working and had cocktails and appetizers with some colleagues. We sat in the patio area and someone ordered a variety of appetizers, french fries, sweet potato fries, chicken wings, egg rolls, and cevichi. I had a Zombie. Very casual atmosphere, very pleasant servers, and the quality of the cocktails were interesting. Nice place to relax... More

This restaurant was perfect for what we wanted. We went there three times over a four day stay in Monterey - so we obviously really liked it. The casual atmosphere suited us just fine. And the food quality and selection were excellent. Every staff member we encountered was extremely pleasant. Well done. A tip - ask for a table outside... More

I sat at the bar to get faster service. Bartender Nida did a great job of keeping things moving while still along it seem personal. The menu has island dishes from around the world. I had a Thai chicken bowl, and it was a nice blend of savory and spicy. Interesting cocktails, too, using their own bitters and infusions.

The staff was great, the food almost like the islands, the location was central on Lighthouse Ave. Not expensive.

I've eaten here many times over the last few years and I never leave disappointed OR hungry. I actually plan trips to Monterey just to eat at Hula's, believe it or not! The menu is eclectic with an island flair and has offerings for every palate. My absolute favorite is the JERK PORK which is served up with a side... More

We loved our food and service at this little restaurant, my husband had the special and savoured every bite, I had the jerk pork which was equally amazing. The servers were fantastic, ours was Ryan and he was very helpful. Would definitely recommend it.

We eat here every time we visit Monterey and have never been disappointed! The food is always fresh, and the atmosphere is fun. We usually get the fish, prepared a variety of ways, each one delicious. And we're not big coleslaw fans, but theirs is really yummy, with a hint of wasabi. Service is friendly and efficient. And our kids... More

We chose the restaurant based on its strong trip advisor reviews - and it definitely deserves them. We arrived at 7:20pm on a Saturday evening, without a reservation. We were offered seats at the bar or the option to wait 40 minutes for a table. We were seated within 20 minutes. Hula's has a great atmosphere - really fun and... More

Service was fantastic on a crazy busy evening and our large party got a table right away. Our food was great- they even have a gluten free/vegetarian menu. Would definitely return!

Let me preface this by saying I have eaten in Hulas each year that I have visited Monterey. On each of my previous visits I thought it was a lot of fun and enjoyed the omnivores menu thoroughly whether I had the steak or fish. However, having turned vegan with my husband in May of last year, it was the... More
