We don't drink alcohol, but did notice a lot of yummy looking drinks, so maybe that is why this is rated so high...i wanted my tuna tacos cooked well--I just did not want to get sick from undercooked fish while 2,000 miles from home. The waitress did not like that, so she ordered for me, LOL. I really wanted to... More

We were looking to get off the beaten path and away from the tourist traps. This place was about one and half miles from Fisherman’s Wharf. Atmosphere was kitschy, like you were in Hawaii or Key West. Wait was about 15 minutes. Service was good. I had the fish tacos and would have been great if there was some flavor... More

I have been going to Hulas over 2yrs now, the food is great. I love the Crispy Coconut Shrimp rolls, Mango Chicken Caesar and the Abalone Style Calamari. Armida, Nikki, Megan and Delmy are always nice. Great food you wont go wrong with Hulas.

I was in Monterey for a seminar and read the reviews for this place. Had to try it since it was not along the Cannery Row or Fisherman's Wharf tourist places. Great meal! First time eating Hapu fish tacos.

We send a big thank you to TripAdvisor for pointing out this amazing restaurant. We are travelling California for 2 weeks and wanted somewhere in Monterey for dinner that wasn't "fast good". Whilst the service was quick, the food was to die for. I had the flat iron special. Wow! Great recommendation from our attentive waitress Megz. By the time... More

Spent three nights in Monterey two of which we ate at Hula's. Great atmosphere, staff very friendly and good food at reasonable price. Good cocktail and beer selection, there is a happy hour but we didn't make it in time. Loved the burger, ribs and tacos. Rather than going down to Cannery Row head a few streets back for this... We went exploring for good dinner spot away from main Cannery Row area, and ran into this little find. Fabulous little place, with perfect choices of a variety of island flavors. And a little bit of 'build your own entree' freedom for the seafood lovers. I loved the idea of picking a fish, then picking the cooking style, and the... More

Get here early because the wait is long sometimes as the food is good! Lots of options for vegans like my daughter while my son and husband like the pulled pork and burgers as I prefer the fish! Casual but fun!

This was the most fun dining experience my wife and I had on our honeymoon. We discovered this place by accident and we are glad that we did. Our server did an exceptional job with suggestions for our experience. We started with a couple of their specialty cocktails. They were sweet and boozy just just how I like them. As... More
