OK, so here we go. Its a total local scene with great food! The pulled pork is my favorite! I would suggest dipping your sweet potato fries in it's sauce. The Ahi wantons are great for an app and the lite eater, but if your a man like my you'll indulge in a fat steak and you wont be disappointed.... more

This place caught our eye (with all the Christmas lights in the window) while we were driving to the Fish House for dinner. We turned around and ate dinner there last night, and the food was amazing! I didn't expect the food to be that great for a small place out of the touristy area and I was shocked. The... more

We would up at Hula's after reading the reviews. Initially, the waitress had a "tude" for some reason...we let it slide and then we ordered, I asked the waitress if what I wanted to order was spicy (I can't eat spicy AT ALL). She said no, it wasn't, so I ordered it. Food took a while to get to us... more

Went there on the back of reviews from fellow TA tipsters. The restaurant was busy and service was slower than expected. Flavours of some of the dishes were a little odd - sweet potato chips were plentiful but no one at our table was keen on them, to mention but one. Chicken satays were fine but spoilt by the sauces... more

Hula's is the BEST. I know - other restaurants might covet awards and boast of Chef's from fancy culinary schools - but Hula's is damn good without all the pompous nonsense. We have lived in Pacific Grove for 5 years and found Hula's soon after we moved here. We eat there as often as possible and EVERY time we have... more

If you are looking for a quirky dining establishment with an eclectic mix if Jamaican and Hawaiian style of food, go give Hulu's a try. It is unique, fun and only a couple of blocks off of Cannery Row. We had a great meal at a very reasonable price. We will definitely go back. more

We arrived in Monterey tired, cold, and hungry. The Airlines lost our luggage, The car rental place no longer had the car we requested and the hotel double booked our room. Food was about the only thing we could hope for. We'd heard about Hulas from a Monterey local while on the plane. Hawaiian food was about the last thing... more

Hula's Island Grill is one of our favorite stops when we are on the Monterey Peninsula. The atmosphere is so refreshing - fun, upbeat, and casual. Servers are fun and efficient and dressed in surf attire, drinks are creative and taste excellent (beware of the Pink Bikini, it tastes so good that you might not notice the potency!) The surf... more

I was recently visiting Monterey from Hawaii and had to check out the "Island Grill". I was blown away.....The food was amazing! We had the Spring Rolls to start with, then the "pan fried" butter fish and the fish soup (substitute with tofu). Yum Yum Yum!! Loved the atmosphere and the service was excellent. I will be telling all my... more

I tried to research as many restaurants on the Monterey Peninsula as possible before we arrived, and boy there a lot of losers! One that seemed likely was Hula's. It wasn't far from our hotel, The Intercontinental Clement, right next to the aquarium, so we walked rather than retrieve our car from the garage. We were greeted as we walked... more
