Seriously?

So anyone who rates this place less than 4 stars either hit a bad day or are simply food snobs. As stated in a previous rating the mai tai is wonderful. We had 3 different pupu's. The shrimp egg rolls were delish, the calamari was average, the sweet potato fries were great and the blackened... read more

We really enjoyed our dinner. The cocktails were well made, and lots of good choice on the menu. Definitely worth booking as its clearly popular. Pleasing to see an affordable restaurant offering such a wide range of seafood, be on the Monterey Seawatch list for sustainable sourcing.

We had great service and the food was good too. I had the shrimp tacos ( they subscribe to the MBA safe seafood list) which were great. Skip the black beans (taste like they were out of the can with a bit of cheese on top) and the plain rice. Partner had the flat iron steak special- had a bite... More

We went there as the restaurant had very good reviews but we were really disappointed. The food is good but nothing exceptional. The service is not on point at all. The waitress waited until we finished our last frie to take our plates away. And for the dessert she brought the bill with her while she dropped the plate. So... More

Seriously. Forget the carb-heavy pub grub. Instead, sip the best Mai Tai on the Monterey Peninsula with perfectly seared Ahi, Hawaiian Ceviche, and Abalone style Calamari. My happy-hour bliss was eclipsed by an exceptional fresh Baramundi fillet cooked in a lemon grass cream sauce that I will remember, along with our waitress, Alice, who added more spice than wasabi.

We've lived in Monterey 2yrs now and have visited Hulas many a times. We love the happy hour. You don't just get fried junk, they actually have other semi healthy items like ceviche. And super good drinks. We run an airbnb and recommend this place to all guests and they love coming, too.

We tried this place because it was rated #1 restaurant in Monterey. We had hula burger and jungle tofu, both were edible, but we were not impressed as both service and food were just okay. No way this place should be rated #1. There are many better places to eat in Monterey.

I've eaten here several times and liked it, so decided to try their Happy Hour. Great prices on drinks and small plates. We easily had dinner with a few combinations and it made it easy to try to some items on their menu. They were quite crowded, even during the week, for the Happy Hour, so the word is out.... More

Stopped in to order a couple of takeout meals and took advantage of their Happy Hour and enjoyed some Abalone Style Calamari! It was most tasty which I had know from previous experiences but the service and food were very pleasing and well worth the time spent.
