Suprisingly good, and not the tourist trap I feared it would be

My wife and I were looking for a restaurant to try on our last night in Monterey, and, staying in a hotel on Cannery Row, we wanted something within walking distance. After looking at several of the restaurants in the immediate area, my wife picked Louie Linguini's. I immediately worried that we... read more

I have been here twice; once for lunch, once for dinner. The staff is friendly and efficient. The food is just average, somewhat bland, all things considered. As an Italian restaurant, one would think the flavors would be more vibrant. The presentation is decent, I just wish they would use more spice, more garlic, and not have it taste so... More

This was one of the few places still serving food at 9pm on a Friday, so we grabbed a table with a bit of a water view (many of them overlook the water, though you can't see much at night) and had dinner. Our pasta dishes were good, the service was good, bread and wine were good, but nothing was... More

Service was just mediocre. Food was just average. Clam chowder was so thick you can stand a soup spoon in it, not sure what they use to thicken it. Minestrone soup was just ok. Total for these 2 souls came to about $23 - very pricy Very pricey for a snack meal. Upstairs on Cannery Row. View inside slightly obstructed... More

Views are beautiful, service was great but the food left us wondering was there more they could have flavored it with to make it just a bit better?

My sandwich was good, but not great. I like the location, but it just wasn't worth the twenty bucks per person. We found another option the second evening in Cannery Row.

I was a solo traveler which can be awkward when dining out. The host was extremely gracious, seating me in a prime location on the tiny balcony with an outstanding view of the bay. After the delicious complimentary clam chowder (didn't skimp on the clams) and a chilled flute of Prosecco, I enjoyed beautifully plated clam linguini. I asked for... More

We were a little hesitant to try this place because of other reviews, but we very much enjoyed our dinner. We had a great window seat with ocean views and the servers were nice and efficient. I had the Scampi Shrimp fettuccine and it was awesome. I'm still thinking about it weeks later. My wife had the Chicken Milano with... More

We visited Monterrey 2 years ago and I have to say, when planning our trip this time, my sons and I were really excited about coming to Louie Linguini's again. Yes, we're foodies. This place is amazing. The food is incredible. I savored every bite of my Linguine with clams. My husband and son had the Seafood Saute (WOW!) and... More
