Nice family restaurant - good quality and large portions

We went out on what was a business trip. We ordered a chicken club and a California chicken sandwich with avocado. Both were very good. We also had clam chowed (cup) which was good. With team and sparkling water, our bill was $40. We would have ordered a dessert because they looked incredible... read more

We'd heard great reviews about Rosine's but this evening they missed the mark. My shrimp salad was tasty but nothing really outstanding. Most of the salad was overly covered with greens and not much shrimp. Also, the dressing was very, very tart. We had to add a bit of mayonnaise to tone down the vinegar in the dressing. Must say... The service was poor! The waitress was rude and seemed annoyed. The food was not good at all. Our steaks were overcooked and salty. The portions were huge though. The blueberry lemon cake was not good at all. I took two bites and that was it. I dropped $74.00 dollars here and was disappointed. I would not recommend this restaurant to... More

Whenever we travel to the Monterey Peninsula - Monterey, Carmel, Seaside, Pacific Grove - we always make time for Rosine's in Monterey. The food and the service is superb. Our usual favorite is a brunch - the wife always the Eggs Benedict and I usually get one of their delicious scrambles ... we both get lots of EXTRA Hollandaise Sauce... More

I had crab eggs benedict and my wife hand fruit pancakes. Never saw a plate so full of good food in all my life. M y wife had enough pancakes and fruit to feed two people. Went back the next morning before we left town. If we go back again will try lunch and one of their fantastic looking cakes.

My husband looked up some places for us to go to date night dinner, and he chose Rosine's, located in downtown Monterey. We usually have somewhat of a difficult time finding parking when eating downtown Monterey, but we got lucky this time around and found a parking spot right across the street. I had the prime rib and my husband... More

Our party of four ate here and enjoyed the various selections. The minestrone soup stood out, as did the lasagne. I had the green salad, which was just a green salad. I also tried, for the first time, the calamari steak. I like calamari but having a large steak was too much for me. The taste was fine but it... More

Rosine's is another one of those go-to local restaurants that every town has. The food is American with a local twist, featuring fresh delicious calamari, hearty soups, and crisp salads, as well as some of the best cakes you will find. Breakfast and brunch are exceptional and the place is filled with visitors. On sunny warm days, the folding doors... More

The check-in clerk at the Hyatt resort recommended Rosine's because of its pancakes and French toast, but the first time we visited, I had Eggs Benedict (my favorite breakfast) and my wife also had eggs. The Eggs Benedict was pretty classic and delicious. The eggs could perhaps have been poached for another 10 seconds (the yolks were just a bit... More

The restaurant is very good, but not spectacular. It is good, solid, American diner food, which is a great cuisine, but the food doesn't really stand out. The service missed a step or tow, which was different from previous experiences. The cakes are not to be missed, however. Be sure to take a piece or two home.
