Good but not the Best

I was here for a late dinner with a colleague. We could walk from our hotel so it was very convenient. The restaurant was swamped with people from a conference being held at the hotel and so we sat at a table in the bar area. The server was overly confident, didn't write anything down, and as a... read more

Decent food, service was slow - long wait for ordering entrees & spotty refill of water. Had to ask for bread (& they didn't bring any butter or dipping oil), which was eventually brought out after we had finished our salads. Music & atmosphere were nice.

My husband, (who plays sax), and I went to the Sunday afternoon jazz jam! It was great and we BOTH had a good time! The musicians played everything from smooth jazz to R&B to classic rock! The crowd AND the musicians seemed to both have fun as well. What started out as five musicians became ten skilled players four of... More

We ate here twice on a recent visit to Monterey. The first night our meal was fantastic and so we returned later in the week. The location being near our hotel made this the ideal venue to eat after a full day working. Unfortunately our meal was disappointing on the second visit. My husband was given the wrong starter. When... More

On Thurs March 26, 2015 Mario Catalano General Manager of Cibos very willing did a fund raiser for the Alzheimer's Association as a tribute to his dad, John Vito Catalano who passed away from the effects of this dreadful disease. Mario gave the Alzheimer's Assoc. 20% of the proceeds for the entire day which included the bar! This is not... More

We were staying at a nearby hotel and looking for a place to go with a group. The group was fun, the drinks were good. Somehow this place seems like it does a big drink business, like a bar, but with decent food also. The food is OK Italian. Would be great in a small non tourist town but you... More

After a hard day of night, our group search for a recommended restaurant and we selected Cibo Ristorante Italian at 301 Alvarado Street in Monterey, California. There was a live jazz band with "Santana" like music going on when we entered Cibo! The place was jumping and hopping with people on the dance floor and people at its bar! We... More

We've been here almost every time we visit Monterey. This time we had a great rigatoni meal and salad, drinks. I love that it is an Italian restaurant and they actually serve Prosecco and Bellinis. They have a great variety in their menu and the owner, Rosa, is there overlooking things. We had a party of four and enjoyed the... More

This was a very interesting place. When we first walked in at 7:30PM on a Wednesday, the bar was PACKED with young people. It was sort of shocking because I really wasn't expecting it for a restaurant. They were also incredibly loud. My husband and I sat down for dinner and actually couldn't hear each other over the loudness at... More

We showed up after the Superbowl was over. The restaurant was quiet and our experience was excellent. We enjoyed great lemon drop martinis, caprese tomatoes and desert. Service was attentive. We enjoyed the crisp clean environment with a live music.
