COCKTAILS•DINNER•JAZZCibo (pronounced chee-bo) means food in Italian, but it’s more of a feast for the senses. An intimate yet vibrant atmosphere is accentuated with expressive art in the form of photography, paintings, sculpture, hand-blown glass and live jazz. Fusing the best of old and new world Italian cuisine, Cibo offers an eclectic menu from gourmet pizzas to multi-course dinners.

We've been here almost every time we visit Monterey. This time we had a great rigatoni meal and salad, drinks. I love that it is an Italian restaurant and they actually serve Prosecco and Bellinis. They have a great variety in their menu and the owner, Rosa, is there overlooking things. We had a party of four and enjoyed the... More

This was a very interesting place. When we first walked in at 7:30PM on a Wednesday, the bar was PACKED with young people. It was sort of shocking because I really wasn't expecting it for a restaurant. They were also incredibly loud. My husband and I sat down for dinner and actually couldn't hear each other over the loudness at... More

We showed up after the Superbowl was over. The restaurant was quiet and our experience was excellent. We enjoyed great lemon drop martinis, caprese tomatoes and desert. Service was attentive. We enjoyed the crisp clean environment with a live music.

I was here for a late dinner with a colleague. We could walk from our hotel so it was very convenient. The restaurant was swamped with people from a conference being held at the hotel and so we sat at a table in the bar area. The server was overly confident, didn't write anything down, and as a result didn't... More

We went on a Saturday night before a concert around the corner. We had reservation at 6 pm, and it was quiet at first and then got busier as the evening progressed. We had an artichoke appetizer, which was smokey and yummy. The caesar salad was just really awesome and more than enough. I then had the shrimp, scallops, and... More

Heaven on a Plate! Since my first visit, I have enjoyed dining at Cibo several times and I have found it to be a great destination for a delicious meal with my husband, family, friends and clients. Last night, I enjoyed an incredible veal chop that was tender and flavorful. I have never found this dish anywhere else in the... More

Well this guys should visit Italy more often. Food is terrible. I had baby octopus for starter which I had to chew like it is a piece of rubber. Worst octopus ever. I had after spaghetti aglio olio. Spaghetti were another disappointment too hard with too much garlic. My girlfriend had bruschetti and ceasar salad and felt sick after the... More

The food was well-prepared and included an interesting variety of traditional pasta, fresh seafood, and Italian entrees. Quiet when we entered around 6:30pm, it got noisy as the evening progressed. Families were welcome based on the those around us. Since the location was near hotels, the restaurant mainly serves tourists though our local friend had been there a couple of... More

If you’re expecting classic Italian preparation you could be disappointed. I would describe Cibo’s style as nouveau Italian and delicious. The restaurant is on Alvarado St which is the main street on which First Night Monterey is celebrated. So after the little parade they have for the First Night celebration we slipped into Cibo to grab a bite to eat.... More
