We were trying to find a decent, Mexican restaurant in Monterey and chose here, as the other top-rated Mexican places seemed to have even less atmosphere... The others were also risky for any seafood or vegetarian options (as they offered no websites to preview the menus...). Granted, I am a picky eater. I do not eat meat or dairy, so... More

We stumbled on to this while trying to get away from the touristy spots on the Wharf. We had the shrimp tacos and a few other things. Everything was fresh and delicious. Our server was great and everything came out quickly. Really good spot.

This place has an imaginative menu w a good selection of interesting seafood, chicken and meat selections served in tacos, wraps and bowls. Table service is offered or you can order at the counter. The tacos are genorously sized and moderately priced. One taco w guac and chips are more than enough to fill me up. Be warned, the iced... More

Excellent Caribbean style Mexican! Almost as good as eating in Cancun. I highly recommend it because it isn't so touristy like some of the other places to eat around here. The locals love it.

Casual restaurant, great energy, yummy food. Veggie enchiladas were the best I've ever eaten. The veggies were flavorful and cooked perfectly. Black beans and rice are worth eating and not your typical Mexican sides. Table service was a little slow but food was worth the wait.

Just off the Main Street of Monterey but away from the busyness of the wharf , this is a good spot for a causal meal. We had supper of chicken enchilada with green sauce and a grilled shrimp bowl. Both were good. There are several good beers on tap as well as bottled beer , wine and margaritas. All the... More

Turtle Bay is owned by the same people that own a seafood area favorite- The Fishwife. Turtle bay has many of the same food items, and similar items, at a much lower cost and just as delicious. We love the tilapia bowls and burritos! Recently the restaurant changed the way you order. Now you sit down and have a menu... More

So much to choice from! Fish tacos are good and fresh. The salads with your choice of seafood are wonderful. Great for lunch or dinner. Friendly staff. A very good value! You'll be back.
