After having a lovely time at happy hour eating from the bar menu 2 years ago, I expected the same when I took my adult daughter there Tuesday, Feb. 24th. We sat and waited for a good 10 mins. before a man helped out our server and got us drinks. Then we sat for another 20 mins. before we got... More

First it was the company-my wife, the room we ate in and the service was exceptional. The food was outstanding as usual. One of my favorite places to go.

Located in the famous Cannery Row, the Sardine Factory is a must for those who want to experience dining in Old Monterey. They also have one of the best wine selections. For those who are movie buffs, the bar was featured in Clint Eastwood's Play Misty for Me (1971), his first directorial role. They also have a wine cellar room... More

Had planed to come for the Early Dinner Menu. Ended up being seated in the Garden dining room that is like eating in a greenhouse. Ordered the basket of calamari puffs to share that are served with both a cocktail & remoulade sauce. That was so much it could have almost been a meal in itself. For the main course... More

Had heard great things about the Sardine factory however our experience was not fantastic. To start with we reserved a table at 9:00pm however when we arrived we were told they were running 45 minutes late. Not surprisingly the place was packed and it did appear that they had taken more bookings than actual tables and the early diners were... More

We ordered a steak and abalone and lobster. Instead he brought abalone and prawns. My steak got cold while waiting for my wives food to be corrected. We were seated in the glass room, I believe its called the conservatory. Nice setting but lacked ambiance. Very noisy. We did go to the lounge and have drinks and listen to the... More

I love this place!! This restaurant, hands down, is the best place I have ever eaten. The prices are high, but I've easily spent more in San Fran for less quality food and smaller portions. The food is cooked perfectly, the menu is interesting, and the atmosphere is great. I never knew food heaven until I've come here. I go... More

A very good friend recommended this restaurant to me. Perhaps he caught it on a good night. I knew we were in trouble when they took us to the back room by the exit door on a very chilly evening, we stayed cold ! The menu is extensive and the prices are enormous and the food quality is pathetic. I... More

We'd been here many times over 15 years when in the area. It was interesting to try the Happy Menu last Tuesday. What a disappointment! My dish of chicken looked and tasted overcooked by all points - risotto looked like mashed potatoes and tasted like baby food, quarter part of chicken (generous portion by all measures!) was dry, mushrooms in...
