Went with a group of 12 for dinner. We all ordered a variety of items. The pub is quaint and our server was attentive. I had the Hot Crab and Shrimp Melt, and it was soggy. My husband had the beef sandwich, and thought it was OK. Servings were ample, so I don't think anyone left hungry. Food was well... More

This is a great pub with excellent décor revolving around the British Navy. I just went with a couple of friends for appetizers and drinks - the service was quick and the staff was friendly. I would definitely recommend it if you want something a little different and not so touristy.

This place is always packed. I've been here a number of times and have never been able to get a seat. So I guess its popularity speaks for itself. I can't comment on the food but the bar staff is nice and the door men are usually really friendly. Check it out for it's lively atmosphere, and outdoor patio but... More

This restaurant/bar is directly accross from the Marriot and maybe a little hard to find if you arent staying there. We went there with friends when we stayed at the Marriott and had such a good time we went back every day. Food was great, atmposhpere was relaxed ... good job.

Excellent ambiance - true to real thing. Steak and mushroom pie was very good. Server attentive and pleasant. Great beer selection. Outside seats if desired. Nearby the Marriott - few blocks from Fisherman's Wharf.

Me and my wife had the spicy beef stroganoff. I guess the clue was in the title but it was too spicy for my wife to eat. However when clearing our plates no one asked how it had been or whether she would have liked something different. I think that would have been good customer service as the food was... More

As a Brit living in the USA and visiting Monterey I really wasn't expecting "genuine" British food but the bangers and mash were excellent (real bangers and real gravy brit style) My wife had the fish and chips and was very satisfied too. Good selection of British beers and ales. Wonderful ambience with good wait staff. Food arrived fast and... More

Crown and Anchor: Scene: The Anchor decor is awesome. As someone who loves British anything (and not being a Brit) this is great. Servers wear Union Jack ties and the walls are adorned with British Navy decorations. The Anchor is a great mix of locals and visitors alike. I first came here with my wife 10 years ago and my... Stayed at the Marriott and this great English Pub is directly across the street. One of the best meals and brews/wine we had while in California. Dinner was well presented, abundant and fresh. The atmosphere and décor were lively yet comfortable. Terrific value!
