Love this place. Have been many times. Every time I'm in Monterey we try to visit here and have and early dinner by the window. The service is great and the food is fabulous.

Any time we are in town for work, this is our first stop for chowder! The service and view are great too!

Wednesday Dinner. Many places on the strip to choose from but this one is as good as it gets. The atmosphere was safe, quiet, and romantic. I was seated quickly even though there was a crowd. There is a great view while eating great food. Service was excellent and friendly with a clean feel. Prices were as expect but well... More

The Fisherman's Grotto was recommended by the visitor center docents. The portions are more then enough and price was reasonable. The clam chowder is to die for and the crab and seafood platter was great. We do not eat calamari, however the appetizer was complimentary so we gave it a try, it was tasty and worth calories. Always check with... More

We've been coming to Old Fisherman's Grotto since our kids were 2 and 5 years old. They are 6 and 9 now. We have always felt very welcomed and have never had a problem with our children being a distraction. We try to go to the Old Fisherman's Grotto about once a month or every other month. We try to... My husband and I were lucky to find this place. The service was very attentive, and the food was fantastic. From appetizer to entrée to dessert, everything was top notch! Will definitely return to this place, while in town. Special thanks to Roberto S., our server, he was the best!

Had an hour wait, but worth the time! The clam chowder is one of the best i have ever had, and i grew up on the coast, and have had a lot of chowders. We all got the platter with dungeness crab, shrimp, scallops and crabcake. It was all fantastic. One of the best meals weve had on vacation.

This place was ok, I really enjoyed the atmosphere but it was SO EXPENSIVE and the food was just ok. We had shellfish, the platter and something else I can't remember the name of. Not bad but not amazing either. I ordered a cocktail, and it came in a pineapple and tasted great- but that was the best thing about... More

Called first and was given wrong information. Drinks were screwed up. Food was lukewarm. Bathrooms were so bad had to tell a manager. White wine just put on table not in a bucket to keep cold. Not worth it.

The Fisherman's Wharf is full of barkers calling you toward their doors. I wanted to try some seafood, but which one? After consulting my cell phone, my wife and I decided to try this place--one of the glitzier places on the Wharf (which again, made me skeptical). But I have to admit the food was superb. The menu is adventurous... More
