Great seafood place. Clam chowder, fish and shrimp dishes. we truly enjoyed it. Great wine too for special occasions or with the tasty meals. I highly recommend it. As a matter of fact, we enjoyed it so much we went there first day for dinner and the following day for lunch

I love the policy. I love my children and grandchildren, but I would never take them to a nice restaurant unless they were old enough to behave themselves. Some parents lack common courtesy and insist on bringing noisy babies to restaurants which ruins the occasion for those who want to have a quiet meal out.

We were welcomed readily at the entrance. Our waiter was a little too talkative but took time to explain a variety of dishes including his favorites which we appreciated. I had the seared scallops with toasted couscous. It was very good. We started with the clam chowder which was perfectly creamy and hearty. The Princess Whale watching charter offers a... More

We walked on the Monterey wharf a bit, at night, found this restaurant. It had a very pleasant, well-dressed greeter outside and we decided to have dinner here. We were led to an upstairs dining room. The menu was nice, and included some kid's stuff, I think. The food was ample ample and delicious.

Excellent as always. Owner very friendly, always remembers us and treats us special. Waiters friendly and attentive. Food always Excellent. Definitely the best chowder in Monterey or anywhere. Sister restaurant Fish Hopper on Cannery Row Excellent as well.

We ate dinner at this restaurant and loved it! The staff were friendly and the waiter brought us a complimentary appetizer platter. The coconut shrimp were delicious as was everything we ordered. We asked for a copy of the drink menu as it was so unique and they happily gave us one. Definitely worth eating here!

The free sample of Chowder lured me in. Had a bread-bowl filled with that creamy concoction. Also had crab cakes from the Appetizer menu. Wasn't too impressed with those. Was looking for more crab lumps in a seaside town but there was only shredded crab. Top shelf bloody mary had three huge prawns hugging the rim of the glass. They... More

I had wonderful local artichokes, and an expensive lobster combo meal for lunch, but was disappointed in the chewy/overdoneness of the lobster and shrimp (stuck to the shells). I told the management and they took $ off but I'd expected better after reading reviews.

I am torn. I have know this restaurant for over 10 years. It was always great but this month I had one of the best restaurant meals of my adult life . 5 courses of delicious., best scallops I ever had. But I only now heard of the no children policy and I wonder if this is even legal in... More

Old says it all for this restaurant, looked like it might have been nice in my grandpa's day. Upon entering a pungent fish smell was apparent. This was not the fresh fish market smell, more of a stinky fish smell. When i touched the wood back of our booth to sit down, my hand stuck to the surface, gross. We... More
