Not kid friendly but best clam chowder on the wharf

Have tried clam chowder at most of the wharf locations and this is the best!! Only downside is that they are not kid friendly and they let you know that!! Also their drinks are very small and weak. I would suggest just getting the clam chowder to go

Ordered a shrimp Louie and it was mostly salad with less than a cup of shrimp! The ingredients were fresh and the service was good but 24.00 for this salad was ridiculous! Will never eat at the Wharf again. Much better restaurants elsewhere in Monterey. Best meals on this trip were eaten at Phils Fish Market in Moss Landing.

We had a fabulous dinner. Our tour guide Doug suggested it when we asked for a recommendation for good seafood. The atmosphere is very intimate. This is due in part perhaps because they have a policy of no strollers, high chairs, etc. This may be hard on families, but nice for those who would like to talk without crying children... More

The Old Fisherman's Grotto is my obsession, I love this restaurant. The ambience, dark wood, leather booths, old music, attentive wait staff who attend to your every need AND the food. Everything they serve is beyond excellent. I actually schedule Monterey road trips for the sole purpose of eating a Grotto meal. On this visit, I had the parmesan crusted... More

Great locals seafood joint (well I am sure they get tons of tourists being on the wharf but locals know this is the best place on the wharf). Great service every time and they really know how to treat you special here. We went for Christmas Eve dinner with the family and were given a complimentary appetizer with a combination... More

We went here on Sunday, August 16, 2015 because it had good ratings on TripAdvisor, but it was the worst place we have ever eaten. I don't even want to give it 1 star! We thought that we would be getting fresh, local fish/food at Fisherman's wharf. Instead I got a burnt, tasteless sweet potato patty with overcooked salmon that... More

We were a bit leery about this restaurant since you can pick up free appetizer cards at various places on Old Fisherman's Wharf. We decided to give it a try for lunch, after a whale watching jaunt, and were happily surprised. The free appetizer was great - a choice between several, we went with zucchini - and lunch was delicious.... More

I had dinner here for the first time. Appetizer was crab and avocado stack with mango and dinner was broiled seafood combo (captain's plate) I believe and a bottle of Prosecco. All were absolutely delicious. My server, Miguel R, was also wonderful. He was professional and efficient. He gave me great recommendations on the food which I took. He also... More

The food was good, but not great. The clam chowder was creamy and delicious, but I've had better clam chowder in New England and Florida. The best thing about this restaurant was the harbor view through the large picture windows. We enjoyed seeing all the activity in and near the harbor.

We loved this place… reminded us of the great seafood places my grandfather took us to in San Francisco. Food is on the higher end but the portions were large and lunch was truly delicious. Our waitstaff was really great and we did not feel rushed… We ordered the seafood sampler (calamari, grilled shrimp, ahi), roasted garlic and garlic bread... More
