Stopped here for breakfast before the aquarium. Very close location. You order at the counter before sitting down. Had the french toast - best french toast of my life! Hubby had the eggs benny. Caution if ordering this. "Canadian Bacon" is not ham deli slices (it's peameal bacon) and hollandaise sauce is not supposed to be spicy. He was very... More

Trailside Cafe aptly gets its name from its location along the Monterey Bay Coastal Recreation Trail. The cafe has a great patio that sits right alongside the trail and offers fairly diverse menu offerings. The beignets and coffee were highlights. One word of caution: it's a cash-only establishment, which is rare to find these days and frankly a stingy and... More

We had lunch here, the soup and 1/2 sandwich combo was a very generous portion. Tomato basil soup was awesome and my turkey sandwich was tasty - bread was toasted. The iced tea even had a great flavor. We opted to sit inside which was very quaint. Just be warned this is a cash only establishment and I will say... More

Delicious breakfast on a beautiful pet friendly patio near the Monterey Recreation Trail. Should have skipped the beignets, though. They were fried in stale oil and in no way resembled what you would get at Cafe du Monde.

Stopped here on our way through town for breakfast. We are here many years ago and really enjoyed it. Got here at 745am and there was an employee setting up the patio. I said to her "Good morning" she pulled the headphones out of her ear and replied "what?" I asked if they were open yet. Her response - "Do... More

We can only recommend this place for breakfast. Tables are up for grabs and orders need to be made at the counter - also mind it is cash only (atm on spot). The bay view is as great as the food, coffees, and juices. We definitely return. Thanks for a great start into the day.

Nice place to sit outside while the world jogs by. Service is low key but no less than you'd want. Order at the counter. Take cash as they don't take card! My husband enjoyed his food but I made a bad choice on my omelette - turns out, for me, goats cheese is not a breakfast food! Good coffee.

Extensive menu, with a nice selection of creative dishes, plus standard breakfast fare. I had eggs benedict, which were beautifully prepared, soft yolks, no runny whites; my husband ordered a plate which featured eggs, pancakes, and divine bacon - cooked perfectly. Our friend had the omellette with spinach and feta. Healthy, and delicious - the menu states they use local... More

We loved the quaint atmosphere of this little cafe, and the food was pretty good. The strawberries on the strawberry waffles were sweet, the bacon and egg sandwich and country potatoes were extremely good. Our only complaints were that the drinks were delivered late and the chocolate milk was room temperature.
