What a dinner! From the salads to the wine to the desserts, and most importantly, the service, this was a wonderful dinner experience. In my opinion, the menu seems limited, but, it was delicious. Had I known how amazing the poached egg salad was going to be (according to my colleague), I would have definitely ordered it. She couldn't stop... More

Chill-out dinner with great food and in very pleasant atmosphere. The grilled salmon with citrus mascarpone risotto, Brussels sprout leaves and baked tomato nduja sauce was excellent and original. Good wine. Very good vanilla semifreddo and strawberry granite, with an interesting banana-infused whiskey next to it. Very good service. Expensive but well worth it.

A great staff, an inspiring menu, an extensive wine list, and in Monterey's Original Firehouse, how could one go wrong with this family favorite. The day after Christmas we stayed at the Monterey Marriott (which never disappoints) and enjoyed another fantastic evening dining experience at Montrio Bistro.

We had an amazing anniversary meal at Montrio Bistro. The meal was delicious, the setting romantic and the service outstanding. We were wished happy anniversary on our arrival and our table was decorated with heart confetti. My husband ordered the Seared ‘dry pack’ Scallops with carrot quinoa, cauliflower 'rice', raisins, coconut-curry broth. The dish was presented beautifully and was delicious.... More

Had dinner here with my daughter. Been meaning to try Montrio Bistro for a while, as I visit Monterey regularly. We had reservation; seated us right away. Bread was delicious. I had steak and daughter had short ribs. Food was served hot, which is a must for me. There were several other dishes that were tempting. There are so many... More

Excellent menu selections and wonderful service. Decor was beautiful. Loved the brick, full sized glass doors, old brass hinges and other features from the historic firehouse which was originally in that location. Complimentary limo to/from our hotel (Monterey Bay Plaza).

It did not help that our server appeared a bit stale with a large group. The apps were all deep fried - yuck - not what you expect in this price range. The so-called "caesar" was comprised of the worst parts of romaine (the very inner yellow center pieces" that were lightly cooked and then doused with horrible parm breadcrumbs.... More

We visit the monterey area often and decided to try someplace different. WOW.... My new favorite restaurant! It's lovely inside, service was great but food was outstanding. Menu items were interesting and different. Prices more than fair for the delicious foods we ate Monday nite. The restaurant was packed so make a reservation and it's worth the drive.

This wonderful downtown Monterey bistro has a loyal local following, great cocktails and appetizers and a Rewards Club. In addition on Sunday-Thursday it partners with the nearby Osio Theater for 'Dinner and a Movie'. I only wish more restaurants did this. You stop in at Montrio, tell them you are doing dinner and a movie, purchase the tickets and either... More
