This place looks a little ropey from the outside and it is not overly clean once you get in. Gruff service. Burrito was very poor, lacking both flavour and texture. My son had a burger, but left all but one bite saying it was awful. I tasted it and it was truly dreadful - really poor quality meat. OK, so... More

In the last year I have eaten my fair share of adobada tacos from Seattle to Arizona. If you want good food, then I highly recommend this place even with paper plates and plastic forks. I agree that real silverware and plates would improve the ambience, but the food is worth the eating and the price. The adobada was prepared... More

From looking at the photographs on tripadvisor, I almost did a double take when we actually found Papa Chevos Taco Shop. It is understated and thankfully not touristy. The food! Oh my lord the food! My personal favorite was the rice. Rice you might say? Is this chick crazy? Um well I haven't had Mexican rice like that anywhere before... More

Don't be fooled by the front appearance of the building. They have good Mexican food. We enjoyed getting late snacks here. Their burritos, rolled tacos are very good. Anytime we are in the area we will eat here.

Delicious Mexican food, the locals go here. Inexpensive but delicious. The carne asada is superb, the machaca and rolled tacos too. This place is tiny and uses paper plates but we kept going back because the place is so yummy. Try it, you can pay tons more for Mexican food elsewhere in the region but this is the real deal,... Hole in the wall is generous....it's a corner in a parking structure. Run down, paper plates, poor lighting. I asked at the coffee shop for the best local take out and was pointed here; otherwise I never would have eaten here. Boy am I glad I did. Great food. Strong flavors. Fresh ingredients. Outstanding carne asada tacos, and the chicken... More

It's cheap, it's open late, the food was better and fresher than I thought it would be. Simple mexican food. I had 3 different tacos, all well seasoned, with the shells fried and shaped while you wait. 2 basic sauce choices: Tapatio or green sauce. A few beers available. There are a couple tables where the food is prepared, but... More

I was desperate to have a Mexican taco on my holiday and came across this place near my hotel. The food was good but my brother and I were a bit worried about eating there as the shop itself wasn't great and could have looked better. There were also lots of flies outside the shop. But we were too hungry... More

Nothing fancy so don't get your hopes up. Great little taco shop though. I stayed across the street at the Monterey Bay Inn and it's perfect for take out when you don't want a big deal for a meal. 5 day visit and I ate there twice!
