Great food n Monterey near Cannery Row

We had dinner at Bistro Moulin near Cannery Row and the Monterey Aquarium. The evening was very pleasant with great food and wine. The menu was varied with nice fish and beef options. The escargot was very good for an appetizer and the filet Mignon and Sand Dabs were excellent. They have a good... read more

Our party of 3 was able to make a Friday reservation a few days prior. Prime time was filled but we were able to reserve a table for 6:30. Upon arrival we were seated promptly and given plenty of time to make our menu selections. Being the sharing types, we ordered the antipasti platter as a communal starter, Osso Buco,... More

As a local I have tried all the French restaurants . This one is one of the better ones. Keep in mind the area has so many places that' cater to the weekend gateway or vacationers. Some have 3-4 restaurants with different themes . This place is really owned and run by the French man that comes out and checks... More

This place is amazing. Usually when you eat at the same place many times as I have here you get served a meal that's not so good. Bistro Moulin never misses the mark when it comes to food, service, atmosphere, etc. I've waiting for the "bad meal" but they do it right every time. Bravo to the chef and staff.

Beautiful authentic French cuisine that seems home-cooked. Relaxed, friendly, very comfortable ambience, with a wonderful chef and waiters who really know their stuff. Behind the scenes very organized and precise, with great wine list. Dinner for two with everything was $120, and it was totally memorable - thanks Bistro Moulin!

Small, very nice. Went for Mother's Day and had the set menu. Excellent food, cooked to perfection. Mom likes her fillet well done and they did it perfectly.

What a treat to find this restaurant off the beaten path in Monterey while on honeymoon. The staff was friendly and we even got to meet the chef. The food is french and delicious but not overly rich that you feel sick afterwards. We enjoyed the food and wine so much we will definitely be back!

It was a toss up between this and the Sardine Factory. We didn't get to eat in the second one but were not disappointed by the Bistro Moulin. We possibly didn't need to book but it was clearly popular with both tourists and locals. The restaurant is unpretentious and the area in which we sat was not particularly cosy, but... More

A quaint little local restaurant with a good reputation. We eat out a lot and Bistro Moulin was recommended. We weren't overly impressed, though our meals were fine. My wife is a chef and employs chefs so is very objective about cuisine. I had Poulet rôti aux Herbes (free range chicken breast marinated in herbs on the bone) with brussel... More

This was a fantastic find - it felt like being in Paris between the decor and the menu. Then - the fish of the day was perfectly cooked and the sauce, light and exactly what the sea bass needed, nothing overwhelming at all. The meal was wonderful and we will most definitely return. Merci mille fois!
