My wife and I had tilapia and fillet mignon with shrimp. Let's start with the tilapia; a breaded not so fresh fish completely covered in sauce. The fillet was cooked at the correct temperature, but visually the dish reminded me of a crime scene photo covered with some kind of 'sauce' which had the incorrect texture and was extremely bitter.... Even though this restaurant is located in a strip mall, once you are inside, it is indeed a fine dining experience. The decor and the quiet atmosphere make it perfect place for a romantic dinner. The menu has a wide choice of items and was fairly reasonably priced. They also accept restaurant.com cerfificates. My chicken with mushroom sauce was OK,... More

I had occasion to take my wife out for her birthday and decided to check out Jacobs. The atmosphere is understated and quiet. One would think with a banquet room in the back, there would be noise, but just the opposite was true. The meal I ordered was the Calamari dinner and my wife ordered the Filet mignon. For a... More

Been here several times for dinner meetings and always forget that their steak sucks. Last time, the filet mignon looked like different parts of cow mashed together & it had a lot of fat. OK....one of the BIG reasons I love filet mignon is because it's a LEAN cut, without a lot of fat! How they messed that up, I... More

I really like the atmosphere of this restaurant. It is elegant yet very chic. The food is very tasty but not all ritzy weird type of food u would come to expect from its name. If in Modesto I suggest try it.

I had the best meal of my life in this restaurant! Truly, we have gone back several times and the food is not always consistent, however it is worth trying and if you hit it on a great night it's amazing! The value for what you get is great. The presentation is always good and atmosphere is very clean and... More

There are not many nice places to actaully "Dine" in Modesto. We had a wonderful dinner and actaully enjoyed the experieince of dining at this restaurant. I think it's often forgotten about but it will be remembered and enjoyed more often.

I found this place by accident and decided to give it a try. Talk about a hidden gem! I enjoyed a wonderful meal. Jacobs has two dinning experiences available for customers. I was short on time and choose the less formal option. I thoroughly enjoyed a ravioli dish that featured mushrooms, corn, tomatoes and a garlic sauce that was terrific.... More
