Great atmosphere but average sushi

This is a fun place but the menu is overwhelming. You need an hour to peruse all of the offerings. Moreover, the service was real sloooooow. One of our sushi orders came AFTER we had finished the teppanyaki. UGH. Re- the Teppanyaki style dining, one dish stood out: The Riptide Stack. It was... read more

My husband and I love sushi. We usually stick closer to home, but decided to go to Riptide. They offer Tepan grill, sushi bar and booth seating. We chose a booth. The menu is expansive. Several choices, which we liked. They offer a lot of signature rolls along with the classics. We chose 3 of the signature rolls and the... More

We made reservations days in advance for 10. They placed us around the Tappan grill with another party of 4. 12 dinners would be OK but tight. 14 diners is too much. I'm not pleased.

Where are the servers?! You see 15 waiters and waitresses walking around but when you need something then everyone disappears. Just went for drinks and it took so long to get another one (which wasn't great anyway). Girls night out was a bust for our group.

This is my son's favorite place to go. We are here now with a party of 14 to celebrate and it is horrible. I've been here an hour and a half with limited beverage service (I had to walk over to the bar). They are having 1 cook use just one grill for our entire party and he is struggling.... More

We visited family recently in Mission Viejo from NY and were treated to Riptide our second day there. From the $3 big bottles of Sapporo to the happy hour menu to the creative (and equally delicious) sushi rolls, we were floored. Everything was fantastic! We sat at the bar and would advise everyone to do the same. The bartender was... More

Everything we had from this place is so far all excellent. Last time we all had taipan on grill. Chefs was not skilled as Benihanna but it was entertaining and one of the best fried rice cooked front of you. This visit we had kyung paso calamari which I loved and Riptide combo were perfect for my kids which they... More

My family, including several adults and a baby, had dinner here several months ago. It was so much fun. The food was VERY good, the fun level was high, as was the noise level. Still had a great time. Baby LOVED all the excitement.

I would like to rate this higher as the food is good and happy hour prices are great but they have the music turned up so load it is hard to talk with your group and enjoy your company. We did ask if it could be turned down but was told that they were unable to.

I used to go here every weekend with my friends and drink saki and eat sushi. The food was always ok and the service as well. I went back last month and it was not the same place as I remember. Food was not as good and I was a little disappointed. So eat at your own risk !
