this place is a combination of sushi bar and Teppanyaki (Benihanas). Lots of custom hand rolls. Some cooked, so raw. Good food, large and loud with 80-90 music. Fun date night.

Sushi bar cooks are good, but sometimes fish seems old. Brought is up to Manager and he was rude. Waitress help at Sushi bar is the worst. Not sure what they do, but they bring water late, take order late, even bring the bill late - you have to go find them. Once at a normal restaurant table at Riptide,... More

Sushi is good and they have a large variety to choose from. The environment is lively and they have hibachi grills as well as regular seating and bars. It is always busy and full of people. Only drawback is it is somewhat on the pricier side.

Sushi was yummy, great bargain for Sunday Breakfast. Eggs Benedict and all you can drink mimosas for under $10!

This was so much more than just an eating experience, the chefs at the teppanyaki grills put on such an entertaining show, and the food is superb too. will definitely be going back next time i am in the states

Sushi restaurants are rated on the basis of cuisine and ambiance, Riptide does great in the ambiance category - can't be beat. Cuisine is another matter. Management comes across as the 'cheaper' alternative. Mission Viejo and Laguna Niguel are definitely worth more than 'cheap'. Riptide loses in the search for 'good' sushi to other smaller establishments such as Dana Kai... More

We had a large family gathering here, and at first they had us set up at one of the hibachis. We felt it was too spread out, and not conducive for conversation. It was also really loud! They offered us a long table outside, and we took it. Service was super friendly and efficient, portions were huge, and the food... More

The sushi was excellent! I tried things new to me and all were very good. I would highly recommend looking at the sushi menu and not just ordering from the hibachi grill. Our group did both and everyone was stuffed. The portions are large. The staff was very friendly and helpful with our questions on what to try.

We greatly enjoyed the sushi bar. The servers were great and made delicious sushi. The drinks are also delicious. The sushi bar was not very crowded but the seated/teppan area was so I do recommend a reservation if coming with a larger group.

Good food. I had to keep going back cuz my family likes the food. Bad service three times in a row. Talked to the manager 3 times in a row. Told the staff I expected better. Had to go to the bar to get water for the table. Left dirty dishes on the table after dropping off new dishes. Dang.... More
