Solid place for Dim Sum

We've been to the Kitchen a number of times for dim sum and dinner. The food is always very good, right up there with Koi Palace. Parking the the area can be tough to find sometimes, but generally not a problem during weekday evenings. The service is pretty typical for a Dim Sum place. It's... read more

Dim Sum on a Sunday morning is a great way to start a Sunday! Doing it at The Kitchen is a thoroughly enjoyable experience. After a 30 min wait, we were promptly seated and servers with their various Dim Sum offerings started appearing. Everything was outstanding. We ate way too much - and yet the bill came to 40$ with... The Kitchen was recommended by the hotel receptionist across the street. The menu was great and the food was truly outstanding however I felt the service for non asians was definitely different (less then ideal) than the service for the Asian patrons. The food made up for the less than desirable service.

I love to come here with a large group(especially my adopted Chinese family). It's so much fun. They usually send someone ahead(especially on Sundays) because it becomes very crowded. The dim sum is so good. I've actually learned some of the Cantonese names for the various dim sum and love to impress the wait staff by requesting them instead of... More

We were staying across the street near the airport so we could catch an early flight out of SFO at the end of our vacation. We decided to try The Kitchen based on good reviews. It was very busy even at 9 PM, and we were about the only non-Asians in there. The menu was quite extensive, with lots of... More

3 of us went on a Friday night. It was full of Asian patrons so we thought great, an authentic Chinese restaurant. We were excited to get a table without waiting...until we saw the location next to the kitchen pathway. My seat happened to be the most exposed. Our waiter kept bumping my chair back as he passed in &... More

It's been a few months since I've eaten here, so the place looked different. Did they renovate the side walls? The place appeared to be cleaner and more pleasing to the eyes. We ordered dimsum and also off the menu - their HK-style crispy noodles - all delicious and deserving of the "Michelin Recommended" ratings which were proudly displayed on... More

A few of my classmates decided to try this "The Kitchen" at 279 El Camino Real, in Millbrae, near the San Francisco Airport for lunch on a Friday, January 3rd, 2015! We figured what with Christmas and New Year's celebrations being over, there would be no mad crowd at any restaurants! NO! We would wrong! (This restaurant was formerly known... More

stayed across the street at the Fairfield Inn & they pointed me here, when I asked for dinner recommendation. Glad to find somewhere close *and* good; I didn't spot any other solo diners, but pairs and groups of friends and families and big groups and...I think I spotted one other non-Chinese, which must make for authenticity! Place pretty packed, even... More

Went there with relatives for dim sum lunch; very efficient, quick service. The loud patrons and somewhat chaotic atmosphere is actually a sign of an authentic Cantonese dim sum lunch (I've lived in Hong Kong, Vancouver, and Honolulu). My only complaint is that I lost the fight for the bill, as my cousin grabbed it even though I told them to... More
