Higher end food selection with a cafe vibe. No table service. Salmon was good. Gnocchi was way undercooked which was too bad because the sauce was good. The garlic bread was unique and tasty. Very short wine/beer list. Dessert cookies were humongous. There’s some weird...stuff on the walls in places. Parking is a real challenge. Cabins go up the side of the mountain. If you don’t like bugs, this might not be comfortable for you. Lots of bug related artwork everywhere.More

Overpriced cheap meals. Nothing great about their food, although you don’t have many options in this town anyways. The place looks nice and cozy. Juice is fake. They serve it straight from a Minutemaid box and charge you as if you were buying two whole...boxes. Not impressed.More

There aren’t many breakfast options between Yosemite and Merced, but June Bug Cafe is not a bad option. The buffet had bacon (tasty but would be better if crispier), delicious hash browns, excellent homemade granola, surprisingly good tangerine juice and high-quality fruit salad (lots of...berries and citrus, not just melon). The presentation of the buffet leaves a lot to be desired. Bread for toast was still in the bag. The trays were crammed close together in a dark side area of an otherwise interesting rustic restaurant. There was a weird sliced cheese and deli meat tray that didn’t make sense for breakfast. In other words, the food tasted much better than it looked, and could benefit from some presentation effort and even good lighting. As a breakfast, though, it was pretty good and worth the $16 cost (including coffee).More

The June Bug Cafe never lets you down. Dinner is served with a choice of soup or salad. The main courses range from burgers and steaks to vegan ravioli and vegetarian Mac and cheese. They also have wine, beer and non alcoholic drinks on the...menuMore

When travelling, it's easy to come across restaurants serving indifferent food that's arrived by truck, part-cooked and ready to reheat. June Bug Cafe is a world apart from this. Affordable, fresh as a daisy and made on the premises right in front of you, it's...the tastiest food we've come across on our road trip of California. Not to mention the friendly service! 10/10More

Very poor and expensive buffet breakfast for 4 on a Thursday. Big disappointment. Cute place but the food was unappealing looking and no better tasting.

We booked because of Tripadvisor. The outside is very funky looking, but the food was just superb. My wife had the pan-seared wild salmon and I had the cod. Both were wonderfully prepared and the asparagus with snap peas were divine. If you are in...the area, make it a point to get a reservation here. We will be back.More

Visiting family that works in Yosemite and other than the employee dinner in the park this was the only place open for Christmas dinner. Ok. It was better than a microwave burrito at the Chevron in Mariposa. But I bet the burrito would not have...cost $34. Ordering took a while even though it was a short line. I know. Christmas night and this was not the A team. Finished ordering and sat down. The lobster bisque soup was tasty. Main course came and mine was hot my spouse's was not. My dinner was rather tasteless but my wifes brisket was good just not warm. Oh. And cornbread came with dinner. Apparently other peoples dinners. When we asked our server about cornbread he acted like he'd never heard of it and said they were out. But watched other people being served ....you guessed it. Cornbread after we were told they were out. I did consider going to the tip jar and taking out my $20 bill that I left when we ordered but it was Christmas so be of good cheer and all that. So was it worth the money for the dinner. No. But again. It was better than the c-store at the Chevron.More

10/13/2021-10/15/2021 Recommend? Yes. I stayed at the Yosemite Bug Rustic Mountain Resort for a few days and I was honestly nervous at what I would be eating. I knew it was going to be in the middle of almost no where so I was prepared...to eat apples and bananas for my entire stay. I was very much pleasantly surprised when I learned they offer actual vegan food and they even change out the offerings daily! I've had their breakfast burrito, cauliflower samosa, lasagna, pie, and trail lunch. Their portion sizes are HUGE, for me the food were easily two meals. My favorite was their lasagna. I don't even like lasagna that much and this was just so cheesy and loaded with all the good stuff. The garlic bread that accompanied the lasagna was perfection as well. You know how sometimes garlic bread is more of just butter and maybe some herbs, but this was LOADED with garlic. The trail lunch I wouldn't get again because you have to assemble it yourself which was a bit inconvenient for me while I was hiking. They also offer vegan sausage as a side which I take advantage of by getting it in the morning as a side to my leftover pie.More

Staying at the Yosemite Bug Resort we decided to eat at the June Bug Cafe. The ordering process was very slow and the food was just okay. Based on the reviews and the laid-back vibe of the place I guess I was expecting a lot...more. Definitely expensive for what you get. We had dinner one night and breakfast the next morning. The breakfast was better than the dinner, although the bacon was under cooked.More

Would highly recommend even if not staying here. The portions are big for sharing. Very high quality 5 star hotel type of restaurant. Plenty of outside seating in front and around both sides. Some with spectacular forest view. Very big surprise.
