overall a good place for breakfast or lunch. portions are huge! so if ur a Man U will probably like that. I'm sad they got rid of they're chefs salad because it was my favorite. but they're scrambled eggs are good and oatmeal. pancakes are ok kind of a hit and miss... overall good but pricey

There's just too many yummy options on their menu! And that's a good thing. I try to eat something different each time that I visit. Another nice choice to have in Merced other than Mexican restaurants.

Good place for American diner food; breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Nice assortment of baked goods. Service was snappy and the food was good.

Black Bear Diner gives you way too much food. I ate the pork cutlet for dinner the night before. Had the "senior" size meal which was about right for size. The breaded pork cutlet was fully cooked, but yet tender. Most cooks over cook the pork into a hard piece of meat. It was actually more like the tenderness of... More

Burger was not how it was ordered, was remade and then it still took 10 minutes, wasn't offered a discount or anything, not coming back for awhile if I do,

Stopped at the Black Bear Diner for breakfast whilst returning from Yosemite to San Francisco Extensive menu, good food and fantastic service ( where in America do you ever get anything else?). Potion sizes are huge by Australian standards but you don't need to eat it all. Meat Lovers Omelette was very good Highly recommended

In my opinion, there is nothing that makes the Black Bear Diner stand out. My take on their pot roast was that it tasted very processed as did the gravy (straight out of a package), and the canned green beans. Yes, the servings are large, and the prices are fair, but I personally want much fresher food with a more... More

It was after 20:30, I took the chicken parmezan with spaghetti and marinara sauce (big portion) and my partner the meatloaf with mashed potatoes. Included in the price was also soup or salad. So very big portions. Nice service!

Awesome service, great food. Knew we could trust Black Bear Diner. We asked the staff about some place to go walk after dinner and they were so honest and let us two ladies know that it wasn't really a safe place to be after dark. We were so appreciative! We ate more than one meal here this weekend as we... More
