Naomi has a ten seat sushi bar but is not a super large restaurant. Sato san and the owner personally go to the morning fish market and select the fish. Sato san, back from another stint in Hawaii, was once voted second best sushi chef in the bay area. Sato san keeps the uni wrapped and away from light. It... More

I have been to Naomi a few times a year most of this millenium -- Ewa the owner/chef is a master of his craft with Sushi, and knows a lot about Sake. He does Sake tastings/pairings that are very popular a few times per year. But our most pleasant and repeatable times are sitting at the sushi bar and ordering... More

My local is Akasake, down the street, a humble, less expensive place with less authenticity and panache, but great value and great staff. I ventured out to Naomi, one night, and was impressed by the superior atmosphere, Sushi specials (bluefin sashimi highly recommended) and the tempura was terrific too. Huge sake selection with great samplers.

I don't get how anyone can say this is average! wow. They made a mistake sitting at a table I guess, which I have never done. Sit at the bar and let the owner and chef just run wild with his imagination. I've never had such amazing, inventive, gorgeous and delicious sushi in all my life. I had no idea... More

Neighborhoody spot, welcoming to families. Food was fine -- nothing special. Same for the atmosphere.

FOOD: Love the non-traditional sushi here. We particularly enjoyed the 49er roll and the volcano roll. We would not recommend the lobster tempura roll, however. It sounded better than it tasted. SERVICE: Everyone here is friendly and attentive. PRICE: Our bill averaged out to around $33 per person.

Don't expect anything fancy, but you get honest sushi and sashimi. The combo is a good and cheap option if you are not very hungry. Service people look a little confused, but you can count it as part of the atmosphere...

Do not come here and get teriyaki. Go to Gombei for teriyaki, or noodles. This really is a sushi place. I have only eaten at the bar. If you get taken care of by the head itami, and you know what you're doing, and you like not just tuna but all kind of fish, he will take care of you.... More

Great sushi place! Friendly yet elegant. Fantastic sushi bar with a beautiful atmophere. Sushi is ordered by piece rather than in a pair which is lovely. Great for families yet is still fancy. I must go to for serious sushi lovers!
