Our friendly waiter guided us through the tasty menu making excellent suggestions for variety and sharing. We both enjoyed the featured corn soup (split without charge in the kitchen) and apple salad. The gnocchi were covered in a marvelous complex flavored sofrito with the garnish of crispy prosciutto. The short ribs were tender and flavorful, beautifully plated with table fresh... More

Flea Street Cafe has been enjoying glowing reviews for years as a top dining spot in Silicon Valley. We concur with these reviews; this is a wonderful place for fresh farm-to-table, well-prepared food. Two surprises were the fantastic cheeseboard with lovely accompaniments and the availability of some fairly economical, good-quality wines.

Exceptional excellent food, hard to make a choice on what to order. Local fresh organic and free range produce. Wonderful to have a chef of Jesse Cool's caliber locally, and not have to trek into San Francisco for quality and creative menu. For many years we have always had the same consistent quality and good service each time we visit... More

We just dined here to celebrate our anniversary and make it to Flea Street about once every 3 months. It's nice for us to have a special occasion restaurant that isn't all the way in San Francisco (we live in San Jose). I've read some of the somewhat negative reviews and am a bit puzzled. My diagnosis of why some... More

Jesse Cool, the owner of this excellent restaurant, has become a celebrity chef with cookbooks, tours, classes, etc. She is one of the first women chefs to make it in a mostly male world (never mind the female TV chefs). From the beginning, she emphasized locally sourced food, organic when available, free range meats, and creative combinations. In the last... More

One of our favorite places hands down. We eat here a lot both on our own and with friends. We've always had excellent, generous service. (One time I commented on how good the soup sounded but wanted a salad, so made the choice for the latter. A few minutes later, the waiter brought out a espresso-cup-sized sample of the soup... More

Great waitstaff that knew the menu and wine in depth. The first course cheese plate was great as we're the 2nd plate meatballs. The main entree -3rd plate, lamb with truffle oil was sub par. Although the lamb was cooked beautifully, the glaze was without flavor and left the overall meal flat. For the price premium here, I expect a... More

Let's start off with why I gave this place 4 stars instead of 5. This place had everything I was looking for: local, organic fare with delicious-sounding descriptions. It was in the right location to allow me to meet a friend I hadn't seen in over a decade after work while on an out of town business trip. The menu... More

Our son and his partner live in Palo Alto and chose the Flea Street Cafe for the first evening of our visit and it was outstanding! My main course of short ribs were beautifully flavoured and just melted in the mouth! The accompanying vegetables were also delicious as were the desserts - my son's Bourbon chocolate dessert was quite unique.... More
