We in Menlo Park feel bad that not everyone gets to have a Cafe Borrone in their town. The food is good, but the ambiance is even better. Friendly, open, comfortable--and you always see someone you know.

Very good food, a little pricey but it's worth it. Service is friendly and efficient. Fun and energetic gathering spot for any meal especially on a nice day. Very comfortable if you're on your own too. Popular with locals (and their dogs). Cafe Borrone and next-door Kepler's book store a source of pride for Menlo Park. Close to downtown, train... More

This is a great place to people watch and enjoy the great outdoors. Oh and the breakfast is excellent.

Borrone's is a fun place to go, especially on a Friday evening when a jazz band plays. I recommend Borrone for a drink as their meals can add up.

Popular spot - always a long line if you arrive near noon. Hard to find seating either indoors or out on nice days. Good salads, sandwiches and drinks, a tempting dessert assortment. Love the Frosted Mocha on warm days. Expensive.

Consistently good food and menu variety. Lunchtime, however, is a madhouse and you have to be prepared to wait for a table and, at times, your order. Servers (who serve your order number when it comes up) are young, and some inexperienced, but they're all friendly and try hard.

Cafe Borrone is a fine spot to meet a friend or to pause in the midst of a visit to the Peninsula to regroup and reflect. The food is moderately priced and designed to go well with a coffee or a glass of wine. Order at the counter and items are brought to your table. Quiche, sandwiches, desserts, cheese/pate plates,... Good salads, sandwiches and coffee in popular spot in downtown Menlo Park. Good place to meet people in addition to see and be seen.

Borrone is great, particularly in the warm months. There is a huge outdoor drinking (beer and wine) and dining patio area that is unlike anything in Menlo Park or Palo Alto. The food is very well prepared, interesting and fit for foodies. Great bakery/pastries for Euro style tea-time. My only problem with Borrone is the format/workflow -- There is always... More

A little surprised this is ranked the #1 restaurant in Menlo Park, but I don't know many places in the area to be honest. I came here for a quick meeting after work for tea/coffee. Ordering was easy enough and the tea was quite good. It seems to be a nice quaint neighborhood cafe that is close to a train... More
