One of the rare Singapore-style Restaurants in the Bay Area

Went here a few times when they first opened and offered discounted vouchers through restaurant.com and we were glad to try this then new place in town. Two of us had one of the two set menus as an introduction to the restaurant. It had been 12 years since our last visit and we regret wasting those years! The dinner was excellent from the first course to the last. The flavors were authentic and delicious; the ingredients were fresh and tasty; the food was served nice and... More

I've walked by this place many times. Now I am so glad we stopped in for a light dinner! I enjoyed this tasty Veggie Stiry Fry: "Select Bok Choy, mushroom, carrot, tofu – Stir fried in Shiok’s vegetarian sauce" and also vegetarian Lettuce wraps. Everything was very good; the veggies were tender and the sauce was delicious. And I liked... More

I really enjoyed my dinner at Shiok. It was my first time at a Singaporean restaurant so I really don't have comparison terms, but I liked the food a lot, especially the desert and the sweet coconut milk directly from the coconut shell! The restaurant is also very nice, soft light, dark forniture and walls, colorful textiles. Quite a intimate... More

First time here and it was very interesting as we went with an expert on this style of food as he was born in Malaysia and he knew his cooking. But the owner who was kind of very helpful was also a bit annoying as he kept making recommendations in a pushy kind of way that drove the bill through... More

Wow, this place must have changed owners. I remember it being so much better. The roti prata was okay, but the veggie stir fry was tasteless. I think I'll skip it next time, although they still get some good reviews so maybe it's just highly dependent on what you order.

I love the atmosphere - it's family, it's groups, and it's couples. The menu is pretty comprehensive, covering a variety of flavors from Singapore. It seems that if this place were better known, it would be packed. I've gone for lunch, dinner and take out. It's hard to order gluten free, due to the sauces.

The food is pretty authentic, yummy noodles and great clay pot. We came at the end of lunch, and missed out on the laksa, but I am told it is something you have to try! Well next time.

I had never had Singaporean food before, and I was a little disappointed with it. I ordered the sea bass in banana leaf, and it was not very flavorful and it didn't satisfy me. The sweet rolls were just OK. Service was very slow.

We ordered laksa, coconut shrimps and samosa. The laksa is good but im looking for a minty-spicy taste, im used to. The samosa is also.good but its more of potato than beef. My bf loved it so i guess we're coming back :)
