Excellent, Reliable Bistro Food

A real Paris-style Bistro in Menlo Park. Not surprisingly, the proprietor Ali, was trained in Paris. We dine there at least once a month sometimes with jaded guests who never fail to be impressed. Just like being in Paris. The owner was wonderful and recommended dishes we really enjoyed. Plus the Rose wine on a very hot weekend was refreshing.

Bistro Vida is an excellent, authentic restaurant in Menlo Park. We have been going there for years. Ali (the owner) is very gracious and the food is excellent. In the spring/summer/fall, there is outside eating and when it really warms up, the whole front of the restaurant can be opened up.

The risotto was wonderful, and the salad with walnuts and blue cheese, so,so. Really wasn't any blue cheese but the flavours of the risotto more than made up for it. This place had charm and from what I could see all the food looked as good as the risotto. The bowl of mussels was massive and apparently was very good... More

I just had to come on here and compliment Bistro Vida for the wonderful experience we enjoyed today, sidewalk dining with our dog. Service couldn't have been better. We felt immediately welcomed as we sat right away at a free four top, our waitperson there in a flash with menus and offering to bring drinks. My rosé arrived in what... More

Intimate, quiet place to enjoy a good supper, Menue choices were very good, as was service. I particularly liked the sandwiches (beef au jus, burgers, and steak frites).

Shared a lovely meal with my son and granddaughter. Great food and wonderful service. My son and I shared appetizers and a Duck Confit Cassoulet. Delicious.

This place is ok, but they are next door to Left Bank and are simply not as good. Salad Niscoise is my choice of lunchtime food.

We stumbled on this place in downtown Menlo Park. We were made to feel welcome. The décor and menu are French-style bistro. The menu is representative, while not being overwhelming. I tried their French onion soup; it was delicious. I had the Vida burger with gorgonzola and roasted peppers. It was served with pommes frites. My burger and frites were... More

I stumbled across this little place while walking up and down the street in Palo Alto. I had a burger and pommes frites that were very akin to the real deal in Paris. Worth a try
