Good choice especially if you are staying at the hotel

Large room, noisy acoustically. Lighting just ok. They lost our reservation but were able to seat us at a good table on a Saturday evening. Great wine selections. I had a fish dinner that was quite good. Before making the reservation I asked if they could provide menu items for my wife who is a... read more

What a terrific place--exotic cocktails, well-crafted menu, terrific service, stunning views of the Foothills, and it all adds up to a fantastic special occasion place. We were delighted to find multiple gluten-free options. It was a bit on the noisy side, but everyone in the room was clearly in good spirits the night we celebrated a family birthday. Ask for... We had a work group have lunch in one of the private rooms. The room was very nice and the view was amazing. The service was a bit slow, but the asparagus salad was very nice and the red snapper was very good. I do wish the servings were a bit larger, but all it all it was very nice.... More

This was our second visit to Madera over the past year as the spouse’s boss loves the place. The views of the hills can be amazing at sunset like during our last visit. This time the hills were shrouded in fog but the views were still pretty good. Even though it was a Thursday, the place was absolutely packed! The... More

We've eaten here twice over the last two years, each time disappointed at the overly price menu, small portions, large and somewhat noisy dining room, and the stuff atmosphere that tries a bit too hard to be upper crust. I'd skip the restaurant and go to the lounge for some truly amazing people watching - especially on cougar nights...or friday... More

While I always enjoy the Lounge for an aperitif, I was surprisingly disappointed by the restaurant. I wouldn't say the food was not good, but certainly it was totally tasteless and average. Not exactly what you'd expect from a Michelin star restaurant and not even comparable to other popular restaurants, such Evvia in Palo Alto or Boulevard in SF or... More

I have been to Madera multiple times for lunch and dinner. The dining room and bar are beautifully done in a hip, laid-back California style. The view of the Western foothills is gorgeous and sitting outside on the sun deck is definitely a treat. The menu offers a refined version of the classics. For example, pizza is flatbread with arugula,... More

I had breakfast at Madera, but the food was perfect and the service was even better! I have nothing bad to say and I really have no criticisms at all; not even a small one.

Madera restaurant's food is tasty, but way overpriced. One upside, the service is SUPERB. Madera has excellent, attentive service. Also, the ambiance is extremely good, nice decor. The restaurant has good views of the Santa Cruz Mountains. The food is tasty, it tastes good, but is not special food. For the money, you can get a lot better food elsewhere. They... More
