We had no problem getting a sunday evening reservation. In fact, the place was empty. The food was beautifully plated and pretty tasty. We had two appetizers, both of which had high and low points. The halibut crudo was delicious but the spiced melon with it threatened to overwhelm. They were not harmonious. The abalone dish was similarly coupled with... More

Had a wonderful lunch with excellent service and food selections and a Wine Spectator Grand Award quality wine list. The staff was very helpful and courteous, and the food was all very creatively prepared and tasty. I would rate this as a five star experience except that I think the prices were very high, even for Silicon Valley standards. You... More

This is one of the best restaurants on the peninsula - equally great for celebrating a special occasion, lunch with friends, or a high-powered business dinner. The food is fresh, seasonal, and inventive with daily menu changes - always the sign of a great chef. The dining room is lovely and comfortable and the service is warm and top-notch. There's... Very modern and a cool place. The service was good but not outstanding. However this was made up by the food and the atmosphere. This is clearly a great place to celebrate something or just to enjoy life.

This is a gorgeous "California setting" restaurant and my partner had the hamburger which he said was fabulous, I had the green bean salad which was tasteless and the beans weren't cooked enough (hard to even cut). I didn't pay so cannot comment on the price. Service was ok, but need more training at lunch as it was ok but... More

Visited Madera at the Rosewood Hotel on Sand Hill Road last night. Has usually been one of my favorite restaurants in the area. The restaurant was busy, but not ridiculously so, although the bar was packed as usual on a Thursday night. The food was adequate. It may have ventured a touch too far toward flavors that don't make great... More

What a terrific place--exotic cocktails, well-crafted menu, terrific service, stunning views of the Foothills, and it all adds up to a fantastic special occasion place. We were delighted to find multiple gluten-free options. It was a bit on the noisy side, but everyone in the room was clearly in good spirits the night we celebrated a family birthday. Ask for... Large room, noisy acoustically. Lighting just ok. They lost our reservation but were able to seat us at a good table on a Saturday evening. Great wine selections. I had a fish dinner that was quite good. Before making the reservation I asked if they could provide menu items for my wife who is a vegan and their reply was... More
