Three adults + two young children. I don't think this fantastic upscale restaurant is trying to be kid-friendly, but the wait staff were certainly accommodating. We arrived at 5 pm on a Wednesday, with two very young children. We were seated near empty tables - a very good thing. This was definitely the best time to go to dinner there... More

Have eaten at Café De Sol since it opened at least once a month. The food is always excellent, as is the service. Love the lively atmosphere. Specials on sign board outside the restaurant. We have taken all our family and friends to Café De Sol, and it is never failed expectations. Varied menu, always well cooked. Restaurant accommodates food... More

Absolutely awesome waitstaff who are knowledgable about the menu and very friendly. As a local in Menlo I eat here about once a month and think it should be more highly ranked than many others that are at the top of the list.

Snacks before meal were included and very good. Main dish was also tasty, not just ordinary Mexican food

I went here tonight for the first time with my girlfriend. It was emptying out as we god there (8pm, Wednesday), and we sat next to a pretty loud table, but other than that all was good. They started us off with a nice appetizer of chips, guacamole, and taquitos. I ordered the hanger steak, my girlfriend had the seafood... More

First visit to this restaurant and WILL be back! I agree with the other reviews that the restaurant is a bit small and crowded, however we called ahead and made a reservation and requested a table that would accommodate a stroller and we fit in. The service was a little slow, but we weren't in a rush and this didn't... More

Cafe del Sol is small and crowded but wonderful. Very tasty Mexican food at a reasonable price. The mojo de ajo (garlic sauteed shrimp) is particularly good. The Sangria is good too. We live in Redwood City but come here regularly.

With the great mexican taqueries and casual places in this area, there are few solid sit down mexican places. The other two are Reposado in Palo Alto, and Taqueria Del Sol (not to be confused). Cafe Del Sol is a little cramped - multiple small rooms - but the tastes are bright and clean. The wine list and sangria is... More

This is our go to restaurant for lunch- The food is good ( Dinner is even better with a larger menu). Service is friendly, sometimes a little overwhelmed and the noise level can be a little high. My favorite items- any kind of burrito and Chicken Mole ( only available at dinner). Their tortilla chips are freshly made and delicious.

Forget any of the French restaurants on Santa Cruz Ave., Del Sol is the best restaurant in town. Every dish is outstanding, and the biggest problem is deciding what to get. Luckily, many of the ingredients are the same no matter what you get, including the tasty rice, beans, and salsa fresca. The enchiladas de mariscos are my favorite, with... More
