IT IS ALWAYS SUBLIME AND DELICIOUS

WE GO OFTEN AND LOVE IT. THE FOOD, WINE LIST AND SERVICE ARE THE BEST. I have had incredible seafood, duck, steak tartar and more. It is always the best

We were visiting Mendocino and had heard the restaurant compared to Chez Panisse. It was far from it. My family of four had pork, chicken, a vegetarian crepe and a filet. All four meals were mediocre at best. The quality of the pork was inferior and the sauce that accompanied it was cloying; the chicken tasted like airline food (not... More

A group of six of us and everyone was quite pleased with their meals. I highly recommend the trio of Creme Brulee if you can save room for dessert.

Hadn't been here in many years because we had been disappointed in the decline in quality after the current owners took over. But, seeing the positive reviews, we thought we'd give it another try. The foie gras appetizer was heavenly. The accompaniments were perfect (honey comb -- very nice). The main course of the signature sturgeon was a different story.... More

I first went to the Cafe Beaujolais in the early '80s, having read the cookbook by owner and founder Margaret Fox. Although she no longer owns the restaurant, I can report that it's still just as good as I remember. Wonderful food, in a lovely old house in downtown Mendocino. It's worth the trip to Mendocino just for the experience... More

Based on a local Mendocino B&B recommendation, my wife and I enjoyed a wonderful dinner at Cafe Beaujolais. My wife really enjoyed her pan roasted sturgeon fillet, trimmed with organic vegetables. I'm a very picky steak guy and the filet mignon was fixed to perfection - tender with great flavor. Cafe Beaujolais bakes bread that is to die for! We... More

The house eggs Benedict is incredibly good. The salads are fresh and flavorful. The bread made in-house is outstanding, especially the seed bread. You can even order a loaf and take it home with you!

A friend recommended this place, and we walked down from the Main Street. Luckily, it turns out, we had made reservations. During our meal the place slowly filled up completely! My friend had the Sturgeon and was amazed and really pleased. I had a vegetarian appetizer and entree and was delighted. For dessert I enjoyed the chocolate lava cake, and... More

The BEST steak tartare I have ever had. Awesome fried Brussels sprouts - wonderful olive oil and cheese. Would love to recreate. Really enjoyed the Creme brûlée too. Pork chop good, but the apps and dessert were the best

Picked based on TripAdvisor ratings and was able to call and get in just ahead of the crowd to come later. They did a nice foie gras and had Sauternes by the glass to accompany. Fresh salad. The duck 2 ways was spectacular with a nice crispy confit and sliced roasted breast with a delicious sauce. Nice wine list. Excellent... More
