Come with Great Company! Everybody Must Love Oysters!

I have this debate about great seafood in and around San Francisco, so this is a favorite of mine. I came here with a group of 5. (Tip #1: Carpool! Parking is limited and tight. Side story: I'm still getting over seeing a family man "gently" swipe the left bumper of my parked car when he tried... read more

Best oysters ever. Have never had oysters "right out of the water" like that before. Our only problem is that we didn't realize we should have bought supplies so we could have a had a real picnic. Oh well, next time. It was still amazing. We bought a bag of "medium" oysters, which to me seemed like they were extra... More

We were with friends who wanted to experience shucking their own oysters. $50 for 50 oysters, and they were fairly small. We didn't do any research in advance, so shame on us. Will check out Hog Island next time,

Firstly, I’m still disgusted that Drake’s Bay actually closed! So with Drake’s closed I had to search for another place for oysters. I found Tomales Bay from Yelp and through word of mouth. So this past weekend I had that oyster craving so I went up with the family. With eagerness we hopped into the cars and decided it was... More

What great time we had, the helpful staff got us going with the shucking procedure, set us up with a BBQ that was already hot, introduced us to the folks next to us. This is a must do when you're near Tomales Bay.

The place charges $100 to reserve a table + $ 50 to reserve oysters. If you come in early when they open at 9 am, you only pay $5/person with free table. If you come late, you take the chance of not getting a table and a reservation may be worth the price. Each table has a barbeque grill. Although their... More

This was a favourite place of ours for many years but sadly in the last few years it has been "discovered" and the crowds you encounter during the weekends have made the place a Coney Island. Used to be quiet and unassuming. Now piped in music, too many people, too many tables and I heard (can't say it is true)... More

I would definitely reserve a table, best in the front row by the beach on the right of the oyster bar. Bring everything you need to supplement as many oysters as you can shuck and swallow. We had a party of about twelve and ate for four hours: raw and lightly barbecued (there is one at each table). An experience... More

Visited before 12 am, no guests, but quite a lot after 1 pm, mostly family gatherings, robust gears, excellent oysters, you have to open them yourself if you like them raw, if grilled they open themselves;) Staff is basic, but friendly - no fancy proposals - just tell us what you want - cash only - price is not the... Unfortunately this place has turned into a tourist trap. The price for a dozen oysters has gone up to $20, from $10 several years ago. I can get freah oysters at tge local farmers market for less. Also you have to pay $5 a person to eat the oyster at the picnic area. This rwally adds up if you have... More
