We returned to eat at Nick's Cove, the third time in as many years. We were not disappointed at all. The BBQ'd Oysters - my favorite - were exceptional as usual. My wife had Baker Oysters Mornay; they were her favorite. The other items we had are shown in the photos; we were not disappointed in any! The service was... More

Not all oysters are created equal. Thought their baked cheese oysters were so much more interesting than the bbq oysters. And somehow they seemed a bit bigger too. Maybe it's supposed to be so, but the menu didn't suggest that. Service was perfunctory. Nothing special but nothing bad either. Location was definitely a ++++. Beautiful views and amazing spot. Worth... More

My wife and I just moved to San Francisco recently and my birthday fell a week after the move. My wife did a lot of research and found this gem outside the city up the coast. We thoroughly enjoyed the countryside drive through curvy roads to get there then had an amazing meal for my birthday. The entire menu looked... More

We'd read some mixed reviews of Nick's Cove, so perhaps went with low expectations. We were very happy that we didn't get put off by the reviews, or else we would have missed a unique experience. Our kids loved walking out to the little shack at the end of the pier, and it was magical to be there at sunset.... More

We went back to Nick's after our wonderful experience last year, but were hugely disappointed this time. BBQd oysters were still good, but the service, and rest of our meal, were mediocre at best. Still a delightful spot, right on the water.

The oysters are the star: raw, bbq'd or mornay. The crab benedict is not to be missed either and I personally love the linguine with clam sauce. The views are great and you can take a short walk along the pier to the old boathouse where a rickety piano awaits you.

The place was a near stop along the way. Food was ok but didn't blow us away. Baked oyster trio was good and fresh. Stick to the fresh oysters though they were pricey. Grilled romaine salad was a nice fresh choice. Fish and chips was good but a little heavy. Service was slow despite having more than enough staff and... More

Stopped on a long motorcycle ride and a quick lunch. Very surprised at the clam chowder. I prefer the thick chowder, which this was NOT. The chowder was flavorful with a lot of claims. My brother-in-law had the albacore tuna melt and there was so much he had to share with me. It was very good. I would recommend to... More

I've reviewed Nick's Cove before, and no doubt enthused about the view, the pier you can walk on, and the good foot and drink. But so often I've had a Louie salad, or cooked oysters (or oysters on the half shell). I'm here to regret that the raw oysters are just not as good as they used to be. And... More
