Excellent food and view, marred by somewhat spotty service

We were staying in Point Reyes Station and drove to Nick's Cove for dinner. We had reservations and were seated promptly. The view is beautiful. Had previously tried Hog Island and The Marshall store for oysters, decided to give this place a try. We ordered the oyster platter - 1 dozen assorted oysters, 3 of each kind offered. Oysters definitely fresh, dipping sauces were pleasant, but overall we preferred the raw oysters at Hog Island. Next we ordered the BBQ oysters, once again pleasant, but... More

It looks touristy from the outside but inside the decor and settings are beautiful and the food is outstanding. We were blown away. We had a lunch of shrimp Louie and the mussels with sausage( it was one of the better dishes I have ever had). Make sure you ask for bread (no charge). Service (Scott) was superb. Next time... More

THis is a great plae to stop for lunch or dinner. Old school charm of classic waterfront bar/retaurant paired with great cocktails & food. Service is friendly. Stopped here on crowded Saturday & worth the wait. BBQ oysters great as was clam chowder. FIsh & chips had light, crispy batter. Check out the cocktail list- Moscow Mule killer- handmade ginger... Brilliant dinner on the water. Unforgettable chowder, very fine fish dishes, lovely service and Californian wine. It was our first night on a costal drive holiday, and it made for a great start of a memorable holiday.

This is a nice place to sit down and watch the Bay Area of Tomales while sipping a glass of wine and have a rich flavored meal , sea food is their number one selling , price wise don't expect it to be average, but still you can enjoy the view and the meal

We spent the night here after leaving Sonoma and on our way to San Fran. It was amazing! Service, setting , food, everything. Very quite and romantic. Don't miss out on going to the end of the pier. It was freezing when we were there and they have a wood burning stove in the little pier house. Cant wait to... More

On a weekday, cruise in to Nick's and enjoy a long, lazy lunch (either inside or out on their deck). Specializing in oysters, but plenty of alternatives (fish & chips, tuna melt are both excellent). Service is a bit slow - but the food is worth the wait. The deck can be hot on a sunny day (and there are... More

This is the place to come on a lazy, sunny Sunday afternoon for a nice brunch by the sea! Make sure you reserve your table well in advance, number of drop-ins can be huge. The Miyagi oysters are to die for. Next time, we want to stay in one of the lovely cottages, but that takes even more advance planning.

We visited West Marin on what was probably one of the hottest days of the year. We stopped at Hog Island, but their open air picnic tables would have roasted us. So we were very happy and comfortably seated at Nick's Cove. Service was very good and the oysters excellent. They have a wide variety of cooked and raw oysters... More
