Seafood says it all

This is an old-time family-run seafood restaurant OVER the water. Can't say much for the sides, but the fish is excellent. Come in the winter for some of the best cioppino you'll ever have. They pull the halibut from the bay themselves, and I've never had better.

Used to be a favorite but quality has slipped. Clam chowder is not good and wine is expensive and lousy. BBQ oysters are good still but the price is way up. This old joint that we used to drive an hour and a half to get to is off the list.

Great for locals, foodies, older crowd - it's not the "trendy" place for the SF techies, but so what!

Of Tomales Bay and the Inverness Ridge. The restaurant is casual and much beloved by locals as a place to hang out on special occasions. They have many seafood specialties, including grilled large oysters with a delicious red sauce. The rest of their menu mainly features other seafood specialities San a warm casual atmosphere.

We planned to eat at the Marshall store on our drive from Mendocino into San Francisco but had arrived too late. One of the workers suggested Tony's down the street. We were quite hungry as we had been river kayaking prior to our road trip and had been tasting oysters in our minds the whole way. We ordered a plate... More

Liked: the huge crabcakes were yum, came on a large salad with fries. The crab claws were not as fresh as I would like. Tasted of ammonia, husband ate them anyway. Expensive, long line to order.

This was our first time to Tomales and to Tony's. We just wanted to get some appetizers since it was too early for dinner and were really looking forward to oysters. We had passed by some other places because they were so jam-packed and cars were parked for a mile down the road. Thought we might be disappointed with Tony's... More

Our last visit to Tony's was disappointing. The clam chowder was thin and clam-less, and my crabcakes had shells in them. Their BBQ oysters are still very good, however.

My husband got the BBQ oysters and loved them. I got the fish sandwich and fries. We shared a peel-n-eat shrimp. We did not leave hungry. The service was excellent. The restaurant sits on the water and has an amazing view.
