Comfortable dining in tastefully refurbished older structure. Hospitable and very welcoming serving very good food. We started with a very fresh Caesar salad. The Fillets we were served very tasty and prepared to perfection, and we had the baked potato with all the garnish. We decided to split the Apple pie with rum sauce for our desert and it was... Friendly service in a cosy historic atmosphere makes a good start at a restaurant. The menu is varied with daily specials. Good fresh home made pasta was a treat and the steak salad had very tender steak but maybe a bit too much dressing.

I love their caesars salad so much that I think nothing of popping in by myself for it. The salad can be ordered with chicken or not and their French onion soup is a wonderful side. If you are a wine person, they have a wonderful selection at all price ranges, probably the largest wine selection in mountains, by the glass... More

Lovely staff, good food. In the centre of town. Have the ribs! I'm supposed to say more but have run out of things to say!

We went here for lunch after exploring Yosemite in the morning, and chose this restaurant as we liked the sound of the menu. The staff were very friendly and prompt, and the interior had bucket loads of character. I ordered a steak sandwich and my partner ordered the pulled pork sandwich. I have to say these were the two best... More

Obviously a very popular restaurant with the locals so always a good sign. We managed to get a table without having made a booking. The front desk hostess was very friendly and welcoming and our waitress was also very good. As for the meal itself - absolutely divine. Cooked to perfection, fresh vegetables, more than enough dinner to satisfy and... More

Stayed overnight in Mariposa (Comfort Inn) on the way back from Yosemite. The Charles Street Dinner was recommended, without hesitation, by the owner of the local hardware store. We received a warm, friendly welcome and found the service quick and helpful. Quite a few of the other diners seemed to be locals which we took as a good sign. I... More

Tired and hungry from a day in Yosemite, we just wanted to fuel the machine. We drove by the Charles Street Dinner House, made a u-turn and went on in. Looking at the menu we found that it was much closer to fine dining than a burger joint and thought, ok, we're here. Let's eat. And it was great. Starting... More

A great place to eat. We ate the ribs, we were blown away. The service was also excellent. It is a very cute little restaurant.
