This is a small cafe which we originally did not expect much when we went to have our dinner in our first night visit. We ended up having our dinner in two consecutive evenings during our two night stay in Mariposa. Their friendly young waitress who served us at the corner table was cheerful, patient, very helpful and friendly. She... More

Very friendly, efficient and authentic American diner style cafe. If the cheese in my tuna melt sandwich had actually melted it would have been a five. Great place to stop for a wide variety of lunchtime snacks in the equally fine little western town of Mariposa. Would love to go for breakfast if the coffee is anything to go by.

It was very busy and sort of high priced for just an aveage breakfast. The staff seemed overworked and too exhausted to show much hospitality. I would eat there again but it really isn't nothing to write home about.

Visited Yosemite for a few days and decided to stay in Mariposa. Discovered the Sugar Pine Cafe for breakfast each day and loved it. Great food and quick service. Loved watching the banter from the sort order cook right there in front of you. Liked that they had locally grown options.

We stopped at sugar pine cafe by chance on our way to Yosamite and were amazed by the quality of the food and the friendliness of the service. Really nice local feel with and authentic diner interior. Clean and delicious.

Talk about hitting the jackpot. The 1st night my wife and I ate there, we had the spaghetti & meatballs and the chicken wrap. The spaghetti is what we call "broke the mouth" good. The marinara sauce is sweet but subtle. I asked for extra sauce and our waitress gladly obliged. I tried getting the recipe but no luck. The... More

Had breakfast there 2 mornings. Loved the cheese grits. Pancakes were light and fluffy. They made me iced coffee the way it should be made. Big glass if ice with coffee poured over the ice. I am fussy about my coffee and this was good!! Obviously I would eat here again

I've been a regular for several years. Recently I stopped by for what I thought was the best hamburger in the Sierras. The quality wasn't as expected. I asked what happened and was informed that the accomplished cooks, those who really knew how to prepare a great meal, had left. I'll continue to highly recommend breakfast but not lunch and... More
