My daughter and I had a great breakfast here before heading to Yosemite. Good food, friendly service.

If I could just rate this place on food it would have gotten a higher rating. The food was great! There were 5 of us in our party and everyone got something different ranging from the turkey burger, to the pork chop. All enjoyed what they got and agree with previous reviews that the fries were top notch. However, the... More

As our lodge did not provide breakfast, we walked to the Sugar Pine Cafe. Living in South Africa, and not having ever seen a typical American diner before, I was thrilled with the decor and ambiance. We had a delicious breakfast and coffee, sitting at the counter on high bar stools. The service was efficient and friendly, and we thoroughly... More

Great decor. Great food. Service was patchy. Though it was packed on a Sunday morning. Good value for money

We highly recommend Sugar Pines for dinner as we greatly enjoyed the tender chicken with mustard tarragon sauce, thick juicy pork chop and tasty spaghetti and meatballs for $10-15 each. The cooking takes place right in front of a long counter so one immediately thinks 'short order cook', but this couldn't be farther from the truth. This chef obviously has... More

This is a small cafe which we originally did not expect much when we went to have our dinner in our first night visit. We ended up having our dinner in two consecutive evenings during our two night stay in Mariposa. Their friendly young waitress who served us at the corner table was cheerful, patient, very helpful and friendly. She... More

Very friendly, efficient and authentic American diner style cafe. If the cheese in my tuna melt sandwich had actually melted it would have been a five. Great place to stop for a wide variety of lunchtime snacks in the equally fine little western town of Mariposa. Would love to go for breakfast if the coffee is anything to go by.

It was very busy and sort of high priced for just an aveage breakfast. The staff seemed overworked and too exhausted to show much hospitality. I would eat there again but it really isn't nothing to write home about.
