Had breakfast here. It was clean and the food was decent. However, the service was very slow, although the restaurant was not very busy.
We had a substantial breakfast of bacon and eggs, toast and home fries. A typical breakfast, nothing out of the ordinary. The restaurant was busy resulting in slow service. Recommended if you are looking for an inexpensive breakfast.
An American diner in an old mountain town close to Yosemite National Park. We were greeted by a cheerful waitress who quickly took our order. There was a limited menu but when you included the day's specials there was plenty of choice. The large home cooked meal was soon provided. What a shame we could not manage a pie for... More
After reading good reviews on this place, we tried it for dinner, but were very disappointed. It's cute with 50s type booths and counter stools. But that's where the 50s vibe left. The music was too low to really hear, but it wasn't 50s music. The menu was sparse, a steak for $20.00, and a few other things. Nothing that seemed... More
Today's special was the pulled pork with a chipotle slaw. It was one of the best pork sandwiches I've had in a long time. The restaurant seems to be short on staff but Debbie busted and rushed to get us our food. Bravo to hardworking people like her! Would come here again on my way to Yosemite every time!
My wife and I are big fans of food TV and dream of visiting the sort of funky diners and cafés that we see on our screens. During a recent stay in Mariposa, we happened upon the charming Sugar Pine Café. You can tell if it's your sort of place by looking at their website - it's certainly *our* sort... More
A great family cafe. Had the best biscuits and gravy. Biscuits were crisp on the outside, not dry on the inside, flavorful and the gravy was out of this world! Homemade fits. Coffee was also very good and the service great. Will travel back to Mariposa just to eat breakfast here, and ride Highway 49 North. Don't miss it.
Great location in central part of town. You might expect a greasy spoon but you won't find anything greasy about this place. Breakfast and lunch are all great. I had real chicken fried steak breakfast (not one of those processed patty things) and great Reuben for lunch. Seating and room are limited but has a great counter seating option. This... More
This is an old fashioned style diner with booths and a counter. Service was friendly and food was good. Excellent value. Lots of locals eat here- so you know its good. We had burgers, sandwiches and salads and every thing was tasty They also serve beer and wine.
