Met some out of state friends for dinner who were in town for just one night at Sapori, and really looked forward to this highly-rated gem of a place, dockside in Marina Del Rey's Fisherman's Village, off the beaten track from the busy, heart-of-the-MDR district's more shi-shi locations. On a Friday night, reservations were easy, unusual for the Marina. First,... More

By the water in Marina del Rey, we went with some friends around 7 p.m. just in time to enjoy the sunset since they gave us a table by the window. I could have eaten anything really! We had a really fresh and creamy Burrata and crunchy fried calamari and shrimps for starters. This was the best part of the... More

What a shame. We were looking for a great place on the water with lovely Italian fare. When we first arrived I thought this was a perfect place! We were seated inside next to the window for the view. Unfortunately, it was incredibly warm with no air conditioning circulating at all. I asked if they could turn the A/C on... More

Sapori is right at the water with a beautiful view of the harbor and its boats. Lovely! Unfortunately you can only enjoy the great view with a glass of wine or a beer. Sapori does not have a full bar! The food is OK but lacks seasonality and many of the dishes were too heavy for summer. Unfortunately my carpaccio... More

I was looking for a restaurant with a view of the water, and food everyone would enjoy, and found Sapori. It is right on the water in Marina del Rey, with boats docked just outside. We had a lovely, pleasant meal, with excellent, old-fashioned service, and good food and wine. Some of us had seafood (the fillet of sole was... More

I am a huge fan of all things Italian and have travelled to Italy at least 10 times. Some of my favorite meals in Italy are at locations that only locals know about. That is the kind of feel I got when I recently had lunch at Sapori at Fisherman's Village in Marina del Rey, California. The Village has an... More

By happenstance we chose this small, upscale, reasonably priced gem for lunch -- with a nice menu and wine selection, and delicious food Most recently the wife lived her pasta selection- and I the monkfish. Have been there twice and look forward to returning many times

We had a really nice lunch at Sapori's and were surprised at how well the food was prepared - especially for an afternoon meal. By that I mean, because of the touristy area, it would be quite easy to expect fast preparation of so so food for a heavy turnover. This restaurant however is run by italians, is slightly old... Nice location in a quiet area, no parking problems. Not too large, it is pretty noisy when crowded. The food is amazing. Great variety, great taste, very good wine list and prices in line with the service. Did not like the 15% default tip on the bill...

worst experience ever. We made a reservation for a party of 6 at 8,30 PM, the person on the phone don't even bother asking us for a phone number. Their website clearly states they are open until 10,00 pm. We drove for nearly two hours to reach this place since the food was so highly recommended. We got lost not... More
