If I had to pick one under the radar place as one my favorites in LA, it would be Uncle Darrow's. I've been four or five times now and have never been let down. Their food is outstanding and every dish I've tried has been amazing. I sampled the gumbo for the first time today, and it was stellar, so... More

It's always tough when you come with a craving, but then taste something delicious. Life's hard choices. Seriously though, I'm so happy that you've enjoyed everything you've tried. Next time you're in, you'll have to give that banana pudding a try! Perfect way to cap off a meal. 'Til then, Norwood, CEO and President More

First time having Cajun style food and it was great. Especially enjoyed the fried fish tacos with Alligator Sweat, which tasted like Ranch dressing and hot chili sauce combined - really good on the tacos. Modest prices and good service..

So glad we could give you a proper introduction into the world of Cajun cuisine! There's no going back now, especially since you've enjoyed Alligator Sweat. You'll have to come back and try some of our more traditional Louisiana fair! 'Til then, Norwood, CEO and President More

I was really looking forward to eating here and I am so disappointed to say I didn't like the food. We were there close to closing time during what looked like a very slow day, so maybe that was a factor. The place has harsh lighting and a cafeteria feel. I can't even remember the service. The food tasted old,... More

I love this place. The owner, Norwood, is a friendly, welcoming man who is justifiably proud of the authenticity of his food. The oyster po boy--to which I like to add fresh-squeezed lemon--reminds me of my French Quarter days. The beignets--well, I remember them as being lighter and being sprinkled with more powdered sugar--but these are quibbles. It's a great... More

Has to be the best Cajun in town. How could we not have been in so long (years)? Best fried chicken around. Best beans and rice around. Great collard greens.
